That's Just The Start - Benteke

That's Just The Start - Benteke

Christian Benteke has said his debut goal on his first team debut was simply the debut of things to come from him. Or at least that's what I think he was implying.

Speaking to the Official Site our new striker was obviously delighted to make an immediate impact:

'I was very happy, it was my first game with my new club and I scored! The fans gave me a lot of respect when I came on, I had to do my job and do my best. At the end of the game, I was happy because I scored and we took all three points. It's only the start, now I have to keep on going and continue to work.'

Benteke also says he's in the process of learning English now so he can settle in properly, and his eyes are on Southampton.

A bit of fluff, but he deserves it after hitting the ground running in the way he did.

Lambo has been such a whizz in the transfer market that it wouldn't be a complete suprise to see more new faces in January. A lot of the slackers and deadwood have a lot to be worried about.

Apparently Garth Crooks had never heard of Benteke despite the fact that he's in one of the best national sides in Europe. Nice to know the license fee is being well spent on 'experts' like GC.
