The Villa Times - 10/09/2012

Unoial Villa News...

And the winner is.... Vital Villa Player Of The Month (August)

Wadey: Sweet relief at last.. I am not sure I have felt such a sense of relief since I last had a burst on my banjo. I have to say that the combination of Villa signing some players, even though I'd never heard of any of them, and a very good performance on Tyneside, lifted the gloom considerably, even if at no point did hysteria actually break out. Obviously, a win would have been fantastic but the fact that it was what they call a wonder-strike, gave us the excuse to claim that Villa did well enough to win all the points, and only Holman's tired legs and Ben Arfa's outstanding technique, earned Newcastle a point they might realistically feel grateful for. Even the habitually niggardly and the normally grudging Pardew had nothing negative to say....... full column: Something For The Weekend (392)

Alan Hutton has said he gets on fine with Paul Lambert and reckons his demotion from the first team is to do with finances. Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Hutton explained that his omission was nothing to do with his ability, it was to do with the other side of it. Full article: Hutton Gets On Fine With The Manager

Defender Daniel Devine stole the show when Villa hosted Southampton at Bodymoor Heath, as he grabbed a brace in the 2-2 draw. Full article: U21's - Devine Shines In Draw

Great interview here: John Gregory Interview On Talksport

Stiliyan Petrov has given his first proper interview since the fantastic news broke that he was in remission. 'I'm fine but it's been hard and tough so far but, thankfully, everything is going in the right direction. I've been looked after really well by the people in the hospital. I'm really grateful to them and I'm grateful to all of the people who have sent messages of support to me, I appreciate all of this very much.' Full article: Stan Speaks Following Remission
