January Transfer Gossip Begins!!!!!!!!

January Transfer Gossip Begins!!!!!!!!

Well, I can`t quite believe this. We have some January transfer gossip! lol

I noticed it in a forum thread we are being linked with Yoan Gouffran see: Click Here.

The Mirror report has very little flesh to the bone but suggests that Villa, Everton and Fulham are all after the 26-year-old midfielder/winger (sometimes striker according to wiki) and he could be available on a cut price.

His deal runs out next summer so Bordeaux might want to cash in and he`d go for as little as £3m.

Wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoan_Gouffran

So there you have it, the first January transfer gossip of the year. I`ll start my new list!

Never heard of him (Gouffran) so it must be a done deal from PL. I like the way he gets these unknowns in. Let's hope our last window signings gel and we can move on up the table.

To be fair, his name was metioned on the Summer Window thread. Still, he could be a useful addition for @3m. Though at 26?, PL may think he's too old and not hungry enough perhaps....

Pride Henke has already said Lambert does not just want 21 year olds, he said he was told as long as the player 26/27/28 he said shows they are still hungry and have the desire to play he will be happy signing them for us to play here, Gouffran is a player who on tv looks decent

I know that he can either play as the lone striker or one of two, but for the past year Bordeaux have been playing 3-5-2 or variations of this, with attacking wingbacks. They have had great success using this formation and he has thrived in it. Long term I could honestly see Lambert using a formation similar to this, with Bennett & Lowton as attacking wing backs. Although this is just me prophesising! He's a good player though, and a snip at £3 million

Gouffran isn't really an "unknown", not in the way most of the players we bought this summer were anyway. He's a decent player, already established to some extent. But still young and needing to prove himself at a higher level. He'd be an exciting and good buy in my opinion!

He had one or two excellent seasons when Bordeaux were challenging for Ligue1 but I think hes gone off the boil since then...

he was very good last year with Bordeaux and would certainly add something on our wings.

Wasn't he somebody that Houllier was after?

I truly believe that Nsomnia will be out if PL can get a player with the same attributes and none of the negatives. How good would that be!
