Villa have a habit of surprising us when we think we're on for a beating. Keep The Faith (but at the same time don't lose it if we lose!).

We never do well up there and the new guys won't have had time to settle in so I expect us to lose. The swansea game is the key for me.

lol, covers all bases I think Adam!
The Fear
the new guys can't play so can't use the non settled in as an Excuse- ULL

I think we will get a win! It's late here in aus and I've had a few beers but I'm sober and sane! The players will now know that they are playing for positions due to the cover we now have coming in,so they will have to up there game! Players who were guaranteed a start ,zoggy to name one, now know that a player with something to prove is waiting for a chance.....***** or bust time! That's my theory and it's time for another beer waiting for the early morning kickoff here! Come on you lions!

Funny old game football and just to stick too fingers up at the pundits villa to win 4-0 utv

I voted we'd lose, which is the likely outcome if you listen to the pundits. BUT PL has brought in other motivating factors by signing so many hungry players. The entire squad will need to work hard for their place in the starting line up, as someone mentioned. That's great. Hungry players will lift the old guard and make them use their experience to keep everything on track in the team, to stop the panic when things go wrong etc. The misfit thing of the 81/82 team is interesting and relevant too. There's a similar 'feel' to the present squad and in PL there's someone who can pull them together. He's done it before, turning around the early bad start at Norwich when he first got there. Then there's the pundits all saying we'll go down. A great galvanizing effect to be exploited. Siege mentality, them against us. A Paul Lambert Braveheart-esque pre-match speech or two will get em going....... Yep it's gonna be fascinating, Mr Fear, I like what PL has said already - we wont be in a relegation battle - which is a sharp contrast to the McLeish negativity of last season. It'll be fun and we fans will need to see the silver linings in the losing performances until things start to click. A draw would be ace today. But even if we lose less badly than Southampton we go up a place! :)

We don't neer do wel there. Togeher with all of/who's available still bedding in. It cerainly won't be easy.

5 0 to the Villa. We will then go onto win the League by abut 10 points and Benteke will be leading goalscorer. We will sell him to Barcelona or Real Madrid for £80m and that will have funded all Randolphs purchases over the last 6 years. All the new investment will then be onto developing Villa Park into a 55,000 seat arena to cater for the glory hunters who will profess to have been here every week since God was a dog. The revolution has started. It may take a little while to gather steam, but make no mistake. Villa are on the march and the Lions are going to be mauling many this season.

The more the merrier, voth!!! Lambert appears to have the backing of virtually all the fans! How long until we see 'AVB Out' and 'Rodgers Out' at White Hart Lane and Anfield?
VillaWillRiseAgain
Positivity breeds confidence. If we send that down from the terraces it will spread. Rodgers is in trouble already. He is an injury to Suarez away from being in a nightmare situation that could see Redscouse in the bottom half of the table all season.
voiceoftheholte
Got to agree VillaWillRiseAgain Win lose or draw we have a good manager who regardless of how the season goes we must hang on to.Having seen the Newcastle game before writng this am delighted with the effort and the draw achieved and thats without the new signings!.
