Two transfer snippets you will now know but just for Villa Times completeness:

Christian Benteke has also tonight put pen to paper on a four year deal at Villa. The fee is believed to be in the region of £6.5 to £7m. Full article: Benteke Too Signs Four Year Deal - Updated

BarosBarryBouma asks: What Difference Does A Smile Make?

I love this headline...! From the Birmingham Mail: Aston Villa: Paul Lambert rules out a relegation fight. I didn`t realise you could do that in the rules but now we are safe, phew... short season though?!?!?! In all seriousness, good interview by Mat Kendrick with Paul Lambert. The Villa boss says he has no fear of a relegation fight at all following Villa flirting with the drop two seasons in a row. He also says he has no doubt the players he has brought in, following accusations that they are all inexperienced Premiership wise, are good enough to fit straight in.
