So What Do YOU Make Of The Transfer Window?

Ok, so we have a snap poll that will remain live until after the Newcastle game this Sunday (as we then move to the man of the match poll)

What do you think of the transfer window?

Some seem dazzled and excited by it, others think we are doomed.

An amazing split as per usual!

Brilliant, couldn't have been better

Good, prob needed more experience though

Average, time will tell

Not good at all

That inexperience will send us down

Just heard that Drogba has parted with Shanghai, as he is a free agent could he sign for us even if the window is losed already????

DDB ..... free agents can sign anytime. ......... As for tranfer window, we did ok, liking what Lambert is doing, I agree it's risky but he knows football and players a lot better than 99.99% of us. I think he's putting the club first and building something ... a club with a philosophy, a team that will compete ..... it's gonna be a roller coaster but I'm in and looking forward to the ride, come good, come bad ... UTV
yes, you can sign free agents, Michael Owen is being chased by Stoke and forget the other club!
The Fear
as for poll... gulp. Honestly, just gulp!
The Fear
I'll put it his way. This morning I did my first skydive, 10,000 feet. 30 second freefall before the chute opened. I feel more nervous thinking about what this season now holds for Aston Villa than I did hanging out the side of the plane.
Good grief Lock.. First time, you mean you are mad enough to go again?!?!?
The Fear
Good purchases, and look forward to seeing them all especially Benteke and Westwood. Whatever anyone thinks of Dunne I'll feel better when he's back fit, and we also have Gabby to come back so we're not completely lacking in experience, hell I'd even bring Warnock back into the fold. Have to give them all time, even the likes of El Ahmadi and Vlaar, and more importantly give Lambert time, it's not going to click overnight. If we lose tomorrow I won't mind too much, I'm not going to start panicking, it will take time, it's a new era, and let's all be glad we're not back in the depressing horror of last season.

SJH, Villa losing tomorrow won't in itself be too significant. (If it indeed happens). The manner of any defeat will be. Another capitulation and the club will be in big trouble.
I thought PL may of brought in a bit of experience too, or ca't experienced players still be hungry?
Pride of Lions
Drogba proved he's a bit of a mercenary going to China, so I'd say there's more chance of hell freezing over than us signing him.
Pride of Lions
Mr Fear, if villa have a good season I will. If its a disaster I will as well, minus the parachute. I'll offer myself as a sacrifice with some sort of symbolic drop so you all can enjoy premier league football at villa.
I like what we have done, yes would have liked 1 or 2 more experienced players but on the other hand we have the young lads at Villa who now have had 2yrs under the last 2 managers, they should now be classed as experienced,if they are not they will be not be good enough................Lambert sees something with them plus the other youth players he has signed, had to change Aston Villa,we wanted change,it's here, its what Villa needed...........lets get on the roller-coaster ride for the right reasons this year.........Lets go for it what ever happens but i do think it will come good,we got the right guy to get it sorted
I'm excited at this approach with youth, its definitely the way to go but it will take time, this is a long term protect not a quick fix. Young and hungry is much better than old and over fed. Can't wait tho see them all in action and .PL's methods start to take shape, it's going to be an interesting season
What is it with we must have prem experienced player from pundits and some fans? I couldn't give a flying fox regards most of the so called prem players that were on offer! They couldn't get into their own first teams or wanted more cash! Hutton, prem experience....thank god lambert sees things that way because the way he is turning our club around,on and off the pitch is top draw! Once these lads are up to speed, watch our club go!
brisbane lion
i like the way PL is going about his business. doing it his way and obviously knows what he is doing. its a true rebuild. we survive this season - and i think we will - and we are laughing.
I can't be more pleased with these signings so far....reminds me of some of the Ron Saunders acquisitions...
Bangkok villan
I wouldn't call Drogba a mercenary. Drogba is an outstanding philanthropist who donates to charity a ton and has a few plans of his own to connect Africa to the rest of the world a little bit better. He took this paycheck to get as much as he could to help out and of course, give his own bank a cushion. He's won every honor you can for a club, he doesn't need to "prove" himself in La Liga or anything, I don't blame him at all.
Spot on Bangkok (never thought I'd say that!) It reminds me of Big Ron the year he brought in was it 8 new players, most of whome we had never heard of. I rember Paul Mortimer was one, Kevin Richardson, Steve Staunton were others, anyone remember the others?
Inexperienced PL players: Ian Taylor anyone? OK know it was pre PL days but you get the point.
