'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All The Prem Ins & Outs. We Missed Any Gems?

Just started a forum thread and thought I`d highlight on the front page as well!

The full list of transfers in and out for all Premiership Clubs this summer. Any you think we`ve missed? Or that you`d like to have seen us move heaven and earth for?

Forum thread: Click Here

My picks would have been:

Stephen Pienaar (Tottenham, £4.5m)
Dimitar Berbatov (Man Utd, £5m)
Charlie Adam (Liverpoool, £5m)
Carlos Cuellar (Aston Villa, Free)
Andy Carroll (Liverpool, Loan) ONLY if it was with an option to buy
Ji-Sung Park (Manchester Utd, £2.5m)

And of course, some might well have said no, some might prefer London, Pienaar was returning to a former club!

You're ****ing kidding right!? All on contracts that I wouldn't be prepared to sign off - have you any idea how much that lazy ******** Berbatov is going to cost over 4 years - best part of £20m, and he'll be bloody useless and worth nowt to anyone when they try to offload him. Surely we don't want to persist in the same spiral of expensive mistakes?

Interesting choices Mr Fear. Your list got me thinking that maybe as fans our opinions are too affected by what players have done in the past. Pienaar I agree with but Berbatov? Adam? Are they sufficiently motivated to produce it again for a 'smaller' club than the one they just left? Park could be the same. In one way or another each of those players could be considered to be on the slide rather than the rise and would you really want them?

For a start crimson, calm down, it is ok to have a different opinion. berbatov is quality, he scores goals, shame on me for wanting that. You can mix quality and proven players with youth you know? Man Utd did it VERY well when the youngsters were coming out but they had experience like Cantona who got slated at the time as lazy and mad etc.

I'm not 100% on Adam Gordonsleftboot, however, he came from a lower level, he did well in PL with Blackpool, he didn't fit Liverpool (many don't) but is tough, can score and takes a good free kick. I'm sort of thinking of the mix of our youth (I see some now being replaced with this new youth set brought in) and experience. Adam isn't too old either?

Ji Sung Park I've always liked, still think he has legs for the PL and also the marketing is a decent shout as well. Again, imagine the experience he could bring to our youth lot? Are they on the slide, or are they looking to re-build? Berbatov for instance will have a point to prove, or yes, he might sink. We'll see. Jol isn't bad at choosing a good player in my humble, I'd expect Fulham to be ahead of us this season, I hope to be wrong.
The Fear
Park and Carroll for me are the only ones I wish we'd gone for from your list. Can't see what the fascination with Cuellar is all about for some folks, have never rated Adam and think Berbatov is already semi retired. Adam Johnson is one I wish we'd got, quality player and would create the chances we need.

Only think we really missed out on Benayoun, who would have added some guile to our forward line. Aside from him - and perhaps Park - happy with our approach and think the team will respond: a hungry teams of pros with something to prove is what our club needs to move forward in the medium-term.
Villan in Exile
Would have been happy with Adam, Benayoun and N'Zonzi.
Stephen Jay Hawkings
Ji Sung Park (where is that again?) was always a sellshirtsinAsia deal. Virtually anyone can be made to look good in that team. Has anyone considered that there may still be cash in the bank in case we need to buy someone in January....? If things dont work out in midfield......
malacaxeta
Essien.

I wouldn't of wanted Charlie Adam from that list, but would probably take any of the others. I'd also add Benayoun, Adam Johnson and N'Zonzi to the list
callum_ws
Messi, Socretes, The Rock and Sean Connery.
Lock
The biggest bargain of the window and you didn include him Michu... top goal scoring midfielder last season in spain signed for 2m... *Faceplam*
