'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lambert On Players & Newcastle

Paul Lambert has answered a variety of questions in his pre Newcastle press conference, and as you can imagine, a fair bit of it concerns the transfer window.

The full transcript can be read by Clicking Here.

To get Newcastle out of the way first:

'Every game is important, whether it's Newcastle or anybody else. It's a really tough game coming and we will try and win. It's important to pick up points away from home, it's vital.'

As for signings:

'He's a really good player. He's young and enthusiastic to do well.' Joe Bennett

'It's just what you guys have reported. That's all I know. The situation hasn't changed over the last few days, it's where it is at the minute.' Benteke

'There are a few areas we are looking at to see if we can strengthen.' Asked if striker was a priority

'He's very good. I have no worries about throwing him in. None whatsoever. The hunger will be there from him. It's surprised a few people but we think he can offer something.' Jordon Bowery

'I haven't heard anything back from that so I am unclear. That's in Charlton's court at the moment.' Dale Stephens

As for any late deal signings, Lambert repeated that you are never sure until somebody walks through the door, so reading between the lines he's definitely hoping for two more at least maybe, as it sounds like we have 5 or 6 potential deals still on the go.
