Villa have been drawn away to Manchester City in the 3 rd round of the league cup.

Do we know when it's to be played yet? Hopefully it's just a few days after they start their CL campaign away to Madrid so they may rest some big players after that... Only hope for us really.

There is hope for us, assuming the match takes place on 25th/26th September.
They play Madrid on 18th and Arsenal on 23rd. City will go all out for the wins there and the big players will be tired for the Cup. City play a much weaker team, we win and lose to Swindon in Round 4. How does that sound to everyone?

Good news, when we lose 8-0 we can concentrate on the league and nobody will begrudge us getting beat soundly by them given anything either. We're not league 2- decent run in league cup means nothing.

Ouch, still I regardless of the team that gets fielded by citeh, they are unlikely to be all that fired ur. Where as you would hope that PL would have stressed to the lads how important a good cup run could be for morale.

If we ever want to win a competition, at some point we will have to get past the likes of Citeh and MUTD so in reallity it means little to meet them early in the competition, in fact perhaps it's better because as they near the final it becomes more interesting for them as another trophie where as earlier in the season it is often seen as a distraction from bigger competitions such as teh CL and PL. My only concern is our team clicking on treh day, we have seen it in preseason and the one cup match so far this season that when we click we can give most teams a good match, we have also seen against Everton that when we don't click we would struggle to trouble Kidderminster Harriers.
