Assistant Academy Manager Steve Burns said of the performance.

'It was a very even game. There was nothing between the two teams but they probably had the better chances overall. The team gave a good account of themselves.'

I know Williams and Burke were involved with 1st team last night, but would they not have been better served playing against PSV? Also does anyone know why England U17 players Josh Web and Callum Robinson have not been involved in either game? Disappointinf if we don't qualify from group, as brilliant learning curve for kids

Don't think they qualify as it's an U19 tournie....think both are outside of that from memory. As for Webb and Robinson, not heard anything but with international call ups for next week that might explain it?

Thanks Mike..Really rated Webb and Robinson last year. Looking forward to watching them this season. I thought both Williams and Burke were Irish U19 internationals, but might well be wrong! Just think eshould play our strongest possible XI in this tounament..Very important IMO

They were last season, but not sure where ages fall now. And not sure on overage requirements for the NextGen either. Neither Robinson nor Webb were involved in the last U21 match though. Maybe injured?

Oh dear. Can we still qualify for the next stage?
