HA! Transfer Links Back! Few Links TO Villa

Fair bit going on today...

James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey
Only other goss this am is I know #AVFC fancied Daniel Sturridge of#CFC on loan but were told v unlikely. See now Sturridge linked with LFC

Breaking news tonight is #AVFC in for Genk striker Christian Benteke. Might as well name him now as other people have! are reporting that Genk have turned down our bid for Belgian international striker Christian Benteke.

Sky then claim the 21-year-old has gone on strike because of their refusal to sell him. Not the sort of character we want in football, let alone at Villa IF true is it?

The Independent amongst others, have the link to the player and say that Villa have watched him on several occasions.

He has 3 goals in 5 games this season and also scored for Belgium in the 4-2 win over Holland.

The Express And Star say he is valued at around 6million and has also been linked to Everton and Fulham.

The player said: "If I have to leave Genk then it will be for England. This is my dream since I was young. My agent knows what I want. Hopefully, a solution should be found quickly."

Sky say that we have also made a move for Charlton midfielder Dale Stephens. The 24-year-old only joined the Addicks last summer.

Another in the Express & Star claim Villa are after 28-year-old Wolves striker Kevin Doyle but surely Wolves can`t sell a third top player this transfer window if they have ambitions of getting promotion back to the promised land !

Everton are also said to be interested.

Would like to see a few more experienced players, we can't rely on a team full of kids I don't think. In fact, I know we can't! Man Utd brought through great youth BUT had loads of experience to help them out.

We certainly need a few more senior players, Tonight is a huge game, if we win it could kick start oor seson. Anything less and Sunday's game becomes even more difficult. COTVABU

Like Kevin Doyle puts in a lot of honest effort problem for me is he reminds me of Gabby lot of effort but short on goals, and how much would he cost 10 mill ? Rather see that sort of money spent on Dawson of Spuds good solid centre half alongside Vlar. I suspect however that 9-10 mill will be our total spend in this window unless we clear out more players.

BBC saying we've had a 5.5m offer for Bentecke rejected. Come on PL/RL, get it sorted!

THe fact that this players name is Bent-Eke adds to the overwhelming sense of deja-vu!

If he comes Benteke will need a decent song. How about 'He ain't Bent, He ain't Eke and he ain't Shrek - What the heck he's Benteke'.

Being fellow countrymen and all I like Doyle but Id prefer Benteke... I like N'Zonzi myself but I would say that is pure speculation not one credible source for that link except yourself :)... anyway Stephens is a good player offers more than Bannan and together with KER we would be more physical in CM which can be key in the EPL...

You desperatley need to some creativity if you ask me. Bar the horrendous Charles Insommnia (Who ironically looks to have being asleep since leaving Wigan) there's nobody with any flair, creativity or guile. Young and Downing are the biggest miss, suprised you didnt try sign Kranjcar or Pienaar. Even someone like Snodgrass from Leeds would have done the job if money is tight. I just can't see anything other than a relegation battle this season and on early viewing i dont see many teams worse. Old Randy needs to get his wallt out asap!

Villa don't do creativity anymore. The squad is full of good old meat 'n' potatoes Brits and Irishmen. Journeymen in other words. That's partly MON's legacy but it's also partly the consequence of an owner who isn't really interested in football.

i'd sell n'zog back to wigan to replace moses. buy doyle with the money, then get this benteke if PL thinks he's the right man. I could quite happily sell ireland- if anyone would buy him- then replace him with n'zonzi as we need an enforcer. Would still get huddlestone on loan, such a class player WHEN he's fit which admittedly isn't very often. But when he is fit, i believe he could force his way into the England set-up if he could have an extended run of games. But i think this is a bit ambitious for 3 days left of the transfer window!

Would not let Nzobia return too Wigan unless they paid the full 9.5 mill for him which they wont. Otherwise we have been done as chumps by Nzob & the Wigan chairman.

What are the odds of us getting Danny Welbeck? Would love him at Villa plus I don't see him being picked over Rooney, Van Persi or Hernandez now. Plus he would suit us I think.

Man city can't agree deal to sign Scott sinclair. Cheeky bid maybe? Charlie Adam? He's fat and slow but he is creative.

I get the feeling that we'll sign 2-3 people, but we'll be very underwhelmed.

pleeeeeeeeease sign Frimpong! He's EXACTLY what we need, a DCM who can actually play the ball aswell. He's young and hungry so fits the Lambo bill and dont think he's ever going to be a regular at Arsenal, Maybe get him in on loan if they dont want to sell. H'es be great for us
