The club -- Villa -- doesn't seem to have the players. Until it does it's going to be more of the same. Can't believe the situation at Swansea, P2,W2,F8,A0. Would be interested to know when Villa last had stats like that? Laudrup is the man.

Swansea have built this up over a few years and now stepped up even more. According to ea sports, Bent had 19 touches last week. Only 1 player in the whole division had less...

9 attempts to 0 in the 44th minute and 3-0. Everton are good but...

444, If Bent isn't getting touches then his team mates aren't passing to him. It's a team game and the whole squad wins and loses together. Virtually, the entire squad -- minus four or five -- needs replacing. If it doesn't then the Sage of Wrexham (R. Savage) might turn out to be the Prophet of Wrexham.

Obviously VWRA. But my argument is that, if we had someone who was competent at the many other attackers duties other than tap ins, he would be a hell of a lot more usefull. It's maybe not his fault but we aren't good enough to have 1 player in his role who can't come deep, hold up, beat a defender etc. Savage can't be right, more like the village idiot of Wrexham.

444, I've never really rated Bent that highly. He was a panic buy. However, he's still a Villa player and his goals probably kept the club up last season. Savage tipped Villa to go down and on this evidence he might be right.

Two more from Thomas Ince, today. Hope someone at the Villa has the good sense to get in there asap. If they've even heard of him?

Yeah, thought Savage was just being controversial but he may not be as stupid as he looks. Everton are good though...

I agree andy3221. Weimann is the one to play (and not just because he just hit the post i said this before the game).i know bent's starved of service but weimann looks more likely to make the runs and get involved than bent, and certainly more so than fonzo

I still can not see us buying enough players before the deadline. We have no depth to many reserve players that are now 1st teamers just because there is nobody else. Great PL has is work cut out. Lerner get spending or Go simple.

Clark is not a centre back - end of. Althouigh it was a yellow card all day long, ironically we should now see the correct pairing of Ron and Nate. Clark can play in a few places (full back, midfield) but he is just not a centre half. We always had problems last year when he played in that position. Baker on the other hand showed today exactly why he is a natural for that position Has to be Lihaj at left back also. WTF? Vlaar is impressive. El Mardy needs more time to adapt. Prince Barry is a waste of space, frankly. And NZogbia reminds me of the guy juggling at the lights - its entertaining for about 15 seconds but ultimately does nothing for me. The guy washing my windscreen is more useful. Ironically I saw that Marc Albrighton went on the windows during the summer with his mate, as a "dare"...... The way this team is you have to play Steven Ireland if available. With the injuries we have (unless we buy someone "good"next week) Weimann has to start. And the Bent penalty was nailed on - all day long. So two bad decisions this week instead of one. With that and the shot on the post at the end, could have actually been a different story at least in terms of the score. Nonetheless....the stats are not good. Shay Given needs to go and lie down in a dark room. For ever. If you need a clue - run back his euro performances. I really thought that Lambert would put on Guzan at the break. Presumably Brad gets a run out on Tues night, and hopefully never gives the jersey back - as we used to say.
