ial Villa News...
Just a couple of snippets today. Afraid the snippets are about players linked outward not inward. The twitter world was going mad yesterday because apparently a black player was driven to Bodymoor Heath. Not sure how anyone knows it was a player, but hey ho...! No names emerged. I also can`t understand why some are getting upset that Sunderland have agreed to pay £12million (surely £6million too much?) for Wolves player Steven Fletcher BUT yes, I would like a few more links for players inward, in fact sod the links, I`d like to see them in the shirt on the pitch! The Daily Mail say that Richard Dunne is set for a move to Stoke City before the end of this transfer window Full article: Villa Transfer Talk - Dunne & Dusted?
Bad transfer window all round? Who have we genuinely missed out on yet? Still, we do need more...!...Bad Transfer Window All Round? Not Just Villa?
Grizzly is back: It would be fair to say that Villa's transfer spending, prior to the Lerner\Martin O'Neil era was paltry. Deadly Doug's tenure was a tincture in comparison; a penny pinching, copper counting affair that had many of us pulling teeth. In the last seven seasons (99/00 -05/6) of Doug's lording, Villa spent a combined estimated £74 million in the transfer market, with player sales for the same period generated £40 Million of returns. All in, Villa put out for £34million over seven seasons. Full article: Behind Closed Doors
Michael Drennan has revealed that the U21's took a huge boost from the half time pep talk made by Paul Lambert in their season opener against Stoke yesterday. Article: U21's Doing The Lambert Talk

Steve Wade: A Villa fan goes all Harry and Willy... If I needed any more reminding that the Olympics were over, after the dead babies and the world's madness returned to the newspapers' front pages, it was the absence of Jessica Ennis from the newsprint, which finally convinced me that the nation's holiday from horror...............
