'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Defoe Or Jones Move

Paul Lambert has admitted that any move for Kenwyne Jones or Jermaine Defoe 'won't happen here' as rumours continue to spin themselves into a frenzy.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Everton game Lambert said he had heard of all the rumours, but quickly dismissed them:

'They are two top players, but that's not going to happen here. I have seen the rumours linking us with some players, but a lot of them aren't going to happen.'

More cryptically he adds about future signings:

'I have never stopped looking, someone might come in. We'll have to wait and see. You can never be sure until someone walks through the door and they are actually here. I think it's well documented the type of players I'm looking for. If they tick those boxes then we will have a look at them.'

Which to me again sounds like he's after players who aren't seeking the move primarily for a wage increase, which would explain some of the freebies we presumably haven't made a move for - that many fans think we missed a trick on.

I just really can't see the window closing without at least three new players coming in. I'd imagine Henke is working overtime at the moment.

Lol, wouldn't say the rumours spin themselves into a frenzy TBH. Lets face it, the rumours machine has all but run dry. It's more of a wish list thrown together by my fellow Vital Villans in sheer desperation.
Pride of Lions
They are but some people are using it once again to beat the club, owner, CEO and the manager up with it. I just cannot understand the mentality of some people, not on here I add who are constantly moaning about lack of movement.
rdunbar100
rdunbar, i dunno what your on about the majority on here have only voice our concerns at the lack of depth to the squad and quality, and i find the complete opposite actually to what your claiming on here, as the majority of us have accepted we do not have sily money and we can not live above our means, all we are hoping is Randy backs Lambert to add some much needed quality and players to a squad we have been trimming for two years now to get the wages back in line, some may just be cocerned as we are in the last week of the transfer window and all we here is exits thats naturally worrying when you look at our squa and our subs bench against West Ham as it was full of youngss apart from Guzan, Injuries will hit us they already have so we need 2/3 more at least in certain areas.

Johnson would have been great for us! Must admit with a week left I'm getting slightly worried

Yup agreed black_villian: would have been good - reminds me so much of McManaman in his pomp. Definitely squeaky bum time with the transfer deadline looming.
