Makoun A Move To Rennes

Looks like Jean will soon be Makoun a move to French club Rennes on a season long loan, putting an end to all the nonsense surrounding him at the moment.

A statement on the Official Site reads:

'Talks are at an advanced stage between Villa and French Ligue One side Rennes with a view to Jean Makoun returning to France on a season long loan.'

What a waste eh. Onwards and upwards.

does he have 2 years left on his contract, hopefully we get to see at least one good year from him. i know people will always argue with me about attitude and commitment, but on the football front, if you look at the team he came from, how highly he is rated anywhere that plays football not mc***** ball and all the champs league football he has played i refuse to believe that if the club show interest in him and vice versa we would have a top player to add to the midfield.

why a loan get rid for good bet we will pay some of his wages and medical bills if he gets injured

sorry, i think that ... if the club show interest . .. lost in words

The guy can't get a work permit so can't play maybe for the best he move on The victim of too many changes of management since He arrived. Sorry we couldn't see more of him but hopefully with better planning and a long term plan which seems to be in place lessons learned. It's nearly here can't wait now.

He's not a "victim" of any managerial changes. Bent was brought in at the same time and he's committed. Gareth Barry played for about six different managers in his time with the club. If Makoun wanted to be at Villa he'd show the effort (learn the language, communicate with the manager, communicate with the fans, the owner etc.). It's a bit hard for "the club" to show interest in someone who cannot/will not show up for work.....

gm, i agree to a point as he is an employee of the club and hasn't lived up to his billing. Some unfortunate circumstances but then these guys get paid big bucks to be able to deal with that. I hope Rennes are paying for all of his wages and that we have insurance or assurances should he get crocked.

Why on loan? He clearly has no future at the club, he should be sold and the money reinvested.
