Aston Villa TRANSFER Talk Hots Up!

Few transfer snippets today!

Following: Villa Bid For Wolves Striker? Transfer Talk James Nursey has obviously done some digging and tweeted yesterday:

‏@JamesNursey
Don't think Fletcher is coming to#AVFC or that Villa have officially bid for him from what i am hearing

The Sun have linked Villa to 30-year-old Italian defender Simone Farina who plays for Serie B team Gubbio. They call him 'Mr Clean` because he shopped a team mate to the police exposing the match fixing scandal. The report says we`ve offered him a three year deal.

Wiki: en.wikipedia.org

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell has said that Villa have made no further contact about 22-year-old left back Aaron Cresswell Jewell said: "We`ve had no contact from Aston Villa, other than the gentle enquiry that I told you about three weeks ago, and obviously they`ve been at our pre-season games. There`s no interest in any of our other players at the moment. That could change but I`m more interested in bring people in than moving people out. But in football the natural way that things happen is that some players will leave the club. We don`t need to sell, we`ve a very small squad as it is and we want to try and improve it rather than deplete it."

uk.soccerway.com say that Villa are about to approach Spurs again for 23-year-old right-back Kyle Naughton to replace the outgoing Alan Hutton (see: Transfer Talk Including Hutton Looking At Exit )

The report says Lambert is set to go back in for the player he loaned for Norwich last season. Apparently he`d cost around 5million and obviously Lambert already has knowledge on this player, so if Spurs do need to trim their squad, why not eh?!

if i was a PL manager i'd never even attempt to buy from Spurs - Levy drags out transfers for weeks and always manages to get a ridiculously good deal for Spurs, you'll never get a bargain out of them! Keep looking abroad i reckon :)
MrZeus
Am I right in thinking Kyle Naughton is another RB? He's a decent player, but if he is, do we need nother one?
Pride of Lions
Very hard to deal with but then, if they actually want to sell a player, maybe it would be easier! LOL Yes, right back, sorry, did mean to say, will change full back for right back in the article Pride. He'd replace Hutton basically.
The Fear
I thought we walked away from Naughton as Spurs wanted 3m when PL was at Norwich but 6m when he came to Villa. Typical of Levy IMO. Great for Spurs but we will always get a poor deal out of them
Chelt Villan
Didn't think the fletcher thing would pan out and of the others only Cresswell remotely interesting.
AVbornandbred
interesting to see on SSN this morning that Ricardo Fuller is without a club. Could be an interesting free transfer on a short term deal.
AVbornandbred
Kyle Naughton can play Left back aswell as right lads, he played left back for Sheff Utd when Kyle Walker played right back at the time, so it coud well be he is cover for both full back positions, This Farinas bloke is a bit of a mysteryto e really ishe actually going tobe a player for us or coach? If he is a player does anyone know if he is any good at all lol
ClivetheVillan
AVB+B: Ricardo Fuller????????

can't see us going for another RB in naughton and cant see us moving for Fletcher either, according to italian paper Gazzetta Forini is considering becoming a fair play ambassador and retiring from playing the offer from Villa is reported to be as a coach to educate our youngsters about fair play and responsability as well as possibly helping out with other coaching aspects.
godplayed4villa
i really hope forini is not being signed as a player. great move to teach the youngsters about fair play etc if hes going to be a coach tho! but as a player he is certainly less than average
avfcwills10
gp4v Kyle Naughton can play Left Back aswellas Right back mate, i said above before when both he and Kyle Walker played for Sheff Utd befor moving to Spurs Kyle Walker played Right back for them and Naughton left back,
ClivetheVillan
koolbill - as a freebie he isn' a bad shout. He's a big lad and different to the other options we have. Also been top scorer at every club he's been to with plenty of prem goals and experience
AVbornandbred
A bit disappointed at mo we urgently require a left back centre mid, a winger who can excite and deliver good crosses for bent and a forwar is a must. we will have a hard season without these new players.
ShaneBlack
I don't think PL will get rid of warnock. I actually rate warnock's work rate. it's not warnocks skill that's lacking. it's his decision making... maybe something PL can fix?
Zarch
One things for sure, we need a new Striker. Albrighton out for 8 weeks now. Gabi fore 6. So Holman can play wide right, and N'Zogbia on the left, meaning we need both an engine playing box2box in the centre and a striker.... we cant fall short like last season having to play donkeys like Heskey in our midfield. We're Aston Villa. We're supposed to be bigger than that!
leelindsay
Never will I be convinced that Fuller or Warnock are either the present or the future. Warnocks head has gone and been replaced with that of a scared chicken in a cage and Fuller is a meat head who hits his own team mates...no thanks. Would rather have had Holt.
koolbill
Its all about who you know. Warnock, Dunne and Gabi have got until the New Year to prove themselves. They may not last that long. The injuries to Gabi and Dunne may mean them getting the benefit of the doubt until then. We know Hutton is on his bike. Chris Herd has gone down the pecking order and PL sees him as centre half cover rather than centre mid. His preference for his midfield three this season is currently Ahmadi, Bannon and Holman. Latest reports indicate that the next Villa Finance report will show that wages have been reduced to a more manaeagble 60% of turnover. There will be no marque signing this season. Everything seems positive. As a final note, Collins was given a final warning by PL when he first took over and his cards were marked. He spent most of the leisure time apparently during the US Tour on the pop. PL moved him on as soon as they got back. The man is a people manager and treats the players as adults. But they play by his rules or they are out. Can't wait for the season. Like always I go into the season hoping to win everything. But in truth I just want to get off my seat in excitement a liitle more often and I want all 4 sides of Villa Park to be vocal. Not a lot to ask is it??
voiceoftheholte
What about the 5th side VOTH? My backside when I'm at home with the kids watching it on MoTD or Sky? :-) Re Collins - great management by PL. Re Marquee signing - I too believe there won't be a mrquee signing but believe there will be more astute purchases then even more astute off-loading in January. Ahmadi, Zog, Holman, Bannan, Ireland, should see us alright in MF as a basic working unit but I'd absolutely love us to steal Jordan Rhodes from under Blackburns noses and Zaha too - but that is a big big ask...Zaha is definitely a player you need to tinker with, rein in and finally find your best position because he's THAT dangerous. Rhodes looks like he has awarenes, touch, power and precision - at least enought to step up and build on while he learns the tougher ropes...I think Villa would be perfect. In saying that though I still feel Cresswell and Long would be ideal for where we are now along with a surprise striker purchase.
