It's A Given Benji Needs A Loan

Never tire of headlines like that, but I am easily pleased. Shay Given has said Benjamin Siegrist would benefit from a good loan spell this season.

Speaking to the E&S Given said that Benji was ripe for some first team action now, and a spell on loan would do him no harm at all in his development.

'Probably the next step for Benji, maybe this season, is going on loan somewhere. I went on loan when I was 18 I think and made my debut for Ireland when I was 19, so he's getting to that age now where he needs to look at getting the experience of playing games and that will help to improve him.'

Shay's perfectly right, and I would be surprised to see Lambert organise something, even if it was only a couple of youth loans for a few weeks, but the more playing time Benji can get now the better.

The 20 year old was unlucky not to figure in the Olympics for Switzerland, but he's developing well and becoming more involved so it's only a matter of time I would suspect.

Oh dear Mike lol we'll let you off with that gag i suppose, im really excited by Benji and am convinced he will be our number one in a few years time, a loan move would give him much needed experiance no doubt either in this country or abroad i think, is Benji tied down on a long term contract i hope so?
ClivetheVillan
A Championship or one of the better division one clubs would be ideal for Benji. Get some good experience under is belt. Think it is a good idea.
Pride of Lions
Agree Pride, a loan can only do good for the lad.
