Villa Bid For Wolves Striker? Transfer Talk

Villa Bid For Wolves Striker? Transfer Talk

https://www.facebook.com/astonvillaismyreligionvillaparkismychurch are reporting

Capital FM are reporting that Villa have lodged a 13 million pound bid for Steven Fletcher. Considering the source I would expect this is quite probably true, although whether the bid gets accepted we'll have to wait and see. I've seen a lot of people saying that he isn't good enough, he's too expensive etc etc, but I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am a big fan of Steven Fletcher. He scores a lot of goals with his head, can hold the ball up and is able to link the play. If Lambert thinks he's good enough and worth the money then we should all get behind him

Steven Kenneth Fletcher (born 26 March 1987) is an English-born Scottish footballer, who plays as a striker for Football League Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Fletcher began his club career with Hibernian, playing in 156 Scottish Premier League games and scoring 43 goals. English club Burnley paid a club record transfer fee of £3 million to sign Fletcher in June 2009. He was their top goalscorer in the 2009-10 season with eight league goals, but the club were relegated from the Premier League. Fletcher was transferred soon afterwards to Wolves, who also paid a club record fee, of £6.5 million, for his services.

Fletcher played for the Scotland under-19 team that finished runners up to Spain in the 2006 European Championship. He has since represented Scotland eight times at full international level, scoring one goal. Fletcher has not played for Scotland since 2010, however, due to a dispute with the Scotland manager Craig Levein.

22 goals in 61 for Wolves.

Certainly think we are a striker light in the squad, so .... ? A lot of money that mind you! On the flipside, not my money is it?!

I have been saying or ages we lack a big man striker to help us hold onto the ball, Heskey could never score so was not the answer Carew was thelast big guy we had that could score, Fletcheri rate he was Wolves main threat and kept them up the season before last in the Premier League, £13million is a lot of money though but if Lambert feels he is the man as you say Fear i am not going to go against his expertise in knowing who we need for sure, he does score goals in a struggling Wolves team which is always a good sign, lets see if this happans as Sunderland want him aswell, Dazz Bent and Fletcher could be interesting UTV!

I thin he's a decent player but you aren't seriously telling me he's worth £13 million? More than we paid for Milner and Downing? If we are willing to spend that kinda money I'm sure we can get a better striker than Fletcher. According to bbc MON has bid £12 mil and I hope he wins this particular battle.

Decent player but for that price, stay clear, debatable if he is worth half of that to be honest.

i think he's the exact player we need. 13£m is alot but wolves paid £7m for him themselves and he is definitely a better player now than he was then

decent player who can score a few goals but never worth 13mil he is 6mil max hopefuly only MON is mad enough to pay that money, and just in case you don't know for his 12 goals in 32 appearances for wolves last year they had more successful crosses than any other team in the prem so he had more than enough chances to score more so sorry I don't want him at villa, much better out there for 13mil
