Unoial Villa News...

John Richardson has a report today in The Express saying that Villa owner Randy Lerner, who has just sold the Browns for around $1billion, has put the feelers out to sell Villa also. Remember Villa CEO Paul Faulkner the other week said we weren`t for sale. See full article: Feelers Out For Aston Villa Sale?

Following: Feelers Out For Aston Villa Sale? I thought I`d ask in a new poll, Do you want Aston Villa sold? For me, the new financial fair play rules confuse the picture for those that want a rich owner (and we haven`t got a poor owner btw!) Wiki explains: Do You Want Villa Sold + Financial Fair Play

John Richardson has a report today in The Express saying that Villa owner Randy Lerner, who has just sold the Browns for around $1billion, has put the feelers out to sell Villa also. Remember Villa CEO Paul Faulkner the other week (see: Villa NOT Up For Sale) said: 'The Browns situation means absolutely nothing with regard to Aston Villa - neither good nor bad. The big point that people sometimes forget is that he inherited Cleveland - he bought Villa. Any rumours that he could be thinking about getting out or losing interest is nonsense.' The paper report today says Sunday Express Sport has been told by a reliable source that feelers have been put out for potential buyers of the Midlands club. Transfer talk: Anthony Annan Next One In?

Barry Bannan has taken the positives from today's game against Forest and promised the fans the team will work on the mistakes we made for Paul Lambert first loss. Quotes: Bannan Takes The Positives

Ron(crete) Vlaar has said he is convinced that Paul Lambert has all the mental qualities to succeed at Villa, and Lambert also sold the Dutchman on the style of play we will employ. Speaking to Setanta before Lambert's first unfortunate loss against Notts Forest today, the new centre half said of our new gaffer: Vlaar Backs Lambert To Succeed

Paul Lambert has taken the sensible approach to today's 3-1 to Notts Forest, insisting he has taken plenty from the game, but the results are irrelevant. Speaking to the Official Site Lambert insisted that he 'certainly won't dwell on that' when talking about the game as he knows 'we'll be okay' as the season progresses. The return of the pre season cameras will allow subscribers to watch the full 90 minutes of the Werder Bremen clash on August 11. As usual, the screening is only available to AVTV subscribers - so for any season ticketers who haven't yet contacted the club for the code to kick in the service, get onto them sharpish if you still have troubles.

Paul Brown: Ciaran Clark is hoping to be a driving force in Villa's backline this season - alongside 'Rolls-Royce' defender Matt Lowton. Paul Lambert was wowed by Lowton in his first outing against Burton, insisting the right-back didn't break sweat. Article: www.avfc.co.uk

Thought for the day: "I was going to take a course in self defence but I decided to take algebra instead. I'm a firm believer that there is safety in numbers!"
