'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lambert Wants Duo To Get Creative

Paul Lambert has said that Stephen Ireland and Charles N'Zogbia will have the freedom to express themselves and flourish under his management style.

Speaking to the E&S Lambert was very positive about getting both players back to their best after working with them in training.

'Stephen is a real talent, there's no doubt about that. It shows when he plays because there is a lot of creativity there, just like Charles. We will try to get the best out of them because they are very very clever footballers.'

Whilst Ireland did improve at the tail end of last season as shown by the fans who voted him Player of the Year and has shown good form in the friendlies so far, Charlie still has a way to go for most fans as it still hasn't quick clicked for him yet, but that doesn't concern Lambert as he's been delighted with them both in pre season so far.

'I didn't know them as people or as footballers but I can't ask for anything more from their attitude in pre season.'

Fingers crossed Lambert can get the best out of both of them, as we know how dangerous they can be, and they could both be huge players for us if they find their form properly this season.

We know there is more to come from both, especially N'Zogbia.

Add Holman into the mix aswell, I think he could surprise a few of us next season.

Hope Ireland can keep fit, think he'll have a mighty fine season for us if he can. And Zoggy certainly needs to wake up and deliver, he was mixed at best last season but who can judge players on last season?!
The Fear
If these two find their best form (when ireland was at man city and n'zogbia at wigan), then I think we'll be seeing some creatice, exciting football at Villa Park this season!
soccer15
N'zogbia had no pre season at all last season, Wigan stitched us up by sending him away to Dubai for a month before selling him to us. Expecting him to come good this season.
coeur_de_lion
I reckon Ireland will have a huge season.
Lock
When lambert speaks it is believable. Hope the fans can stand the patient passing game without getting on players backs for not being direct enough. Totally new style being aimed for with one touch passing sometimes 3 or 4 passes between the same two players going nowhere. Think we will need an education along with players. Pre season has looked very promising.
RiF
If Lambert can not only boost their confidence and get them playing to their max but get them to click with each other along with DB9 we could be very frightening next year. Sounds as if he likes them to play with freedom and expression so fingers crossed, can't wait to get down to Villa Park!
Lion Heart
I agree with RiF, Lambert comes across very sincere and knowledgable and therfore very believable. Such a nice change. So if he can getthe best otf Zoggy and continue Ielands steady improvement from last season then we'll be fine in midfield.
Pride of Lions
I think we are going to win the League . . . . . . . . . .

Anyone remember the Newcastle game where Eck subd Ireland for not tackling enough??? And he was having a blinder!!! No more of nonsense from Lambert.
