Paul Brown spoke to Paul Lambert after the pre-season on www.avfc.co.uk

The Villa boss said he was pleased with his young team.

'Peterborough are a good Championship side and I know from past experience how hard it is to come here. Darren has a good team but for us to come here and win with the squad we did was very good. Young lads always play without fear. It's when they get experienced that the game changes."

He also said that both goals were 'great` and thought we played some 'excellent` football.

'I am delighted with what they have done. They have been a credit to the club.'

All seems such a buzz at the moment doesn`t it?!

My mate, a Wet Spam supporter, sent me a note on Facebook saying we were set for a relegation six-pointer on the opening day (after I teased him about Collins - lol). Anyway, I put him straight. Top 8 all the way baby! UTV!!!

The goals we've scored so far in re season have been spead around the squad, but has anyone else noticed a distinct lack of goals from our "strikers"? Surely PL is aware of our lack of goals. Admittedly we won't be parking the bus this season so compared with last season, this season should be better, but that cannot be the complete answer.

Another great win, yeah yeah I know it's all about fitness blah blah blah. That's what you say when you have a crap pre season, we havent lol. I'm having to very hard to keep my feet on the ground, i'm sending out subliminal messages on "a season without being involved in the relegation scrap would be great" but deep down I'm starting to expect us to challenge haha. Ok so not quite that far but still, excited!
