Vlaar Still An Option? AVFC Transfer Talk
Very little transfer talk today, which probably means 20 signings are about to be made!
Mat Kendrick has tweeted:
"Interest but no bid for Ipswich's Aaron Cresswell yet but Villa set to resume talks over Ron Vlaar deal"
And the Sun also run with the Ipswich defender link but saying Villa would have to pay double the £3m they are looking to bid.
Well, actually the Sun say that we have been told to double our bid but we can`t do that because we`ve not actually bid!
Be interesting to see if Vlaar is still saying the deal is off IF Villa do go in and bid?! Or will he backtrack? I find it hard to see, after he did so much talking in the press, that Villa will want him, but hey, stranger things have happened.
The only other press snippets say that Richard Dunne is considering international retirement, meh!

I thought vlaar said, that he hasnt had a bid and so the villa thing is off for now... now being the key word. Also that he would concentrate his immediate future with feyenoord, well thts understandable because he isnt our player (as of yet) so its a play of words (hopefully) to keep both sets of fans calm and the media away. Well thts how is she it anyway

Maybe I should change my name to mystic meg as I thought we may pick this back up once we were back from America. I just dont see why you would sign a player for the sums involved when you cant get him invlolved for 2 weeks

Surely it must have been clear to Vlaar no deal would be happening while the manager, players and all sorts of villa staff were over in the US. He may well have talked himself out of a deal but who knows! Do think on paper he'd be a very good signing! We desperately need a new centre defensive partnership

Lions how dare you think rationally and logically about the Vlaar situation lol hey remember these are footballers not universitey grads so to Vlaar its yes or no his brain as a footballer would hurt if it had to start thinking about reasons like waiting until ourmanager is back in the country before we bid for him ;) Vlaar to be fair as above say that the deal is off for now which it has been i think he would be a good addition in place of Collins hope we go in for Cresswell also oh and UTV!
