Petrov In Remission - Official

Petrov In Remission - Official

Hopefully they'll be more to come on this tomorrow, but Karl Court, the former General Secretary of the Former Players' Association has passed on the great news that Stan is in remission.

Screen

Everybody got excited when Alistair Campbell unfortunately said Stan was in remission previously when it wasn't accurate, but Karl has confirmed tonight that the great news is now true.

Tweeting:

'I have been asked by Stan to say a massive thanks to all of you as he has just received the fantastic news that he is in remission. But will have to be monitored for the foreseeable future. Once again thanks to you all for your ongoing support.'

Made up for Stan on this, whilst the battle isn't over - in some ways it may never be with the risk of it returning - it's a huge step on the road to full recovery and it'll be a great weight off his and his families shoulders.

Congratulations Stan!
