Vital Villa Acorns Challenge !

Vital Villa Lions Club won the Acorns 1874 Challenge for raising the most money for Acorns this year. Chuffed. Just wish I'd been well enough to be at the event to pick up the award. I was there is spirit at least!

Delighted with this though. Thanks to all who contributed even a £1 towards our running total (£4,126.56)

How about everyone who reads this just donates ONE POUND?

We have over 2000 in the forum each day, more on the front page. Imagine the difference a pound could make if we all donated every now and then?

Just text:

or any sum up to £10... ie a fiver:

The Vital Villa Acorns challenge is going well, we've smashed very target (our first target was just £750)

We are now at just over £4100 but that isn`t enough, we want more!

Post Christmas is a tough time for charities already hit by this awful recession, so if you have a few pennies to spare... please donate. Doing it through the just giving site is easy and quick.

About Acorns www.acorns.org.uk :

Acorns Children`s Hospice offers nursing care and support for children who have life limiting or life threatening illnesses, and their families.

A network of care and support services is on offer at Acorns including: nursing care, end-of-life care and bereavement support; short breaks for the children; complementary therapies and support groups for the whole family.

forum

Acorns has three children`s hospices: Acorns in Birmingham (located in Selly Oak), Acorns in the Black Country (located in Walsall) and Acorns for the Three Counties (located in Worcester). Each hospice is designed as a 'home-from-home` offering a fun, relaxed and comfortable environment, complete with individual bedrooms for the children, communal dining areas, beautiful gardens, hydro-therapy pools and multi-sensory rooms.

Short breaks for children give them and their families a break from the daily routine, and offer a safe environment for the children to stay and enjoy many activities not available at home.

Acorns

End-of-life care and the 'special bedrooms` gives families a private area to say goodbye to their child.

forum

Acorns also has a Community Team who offer support to the whole family 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, including practical and emotional support for parents, special help for siblings and bereavement support for as long as it is needed.

Acorns helps children and families going through the unthinkable to make the most of every day and create happy memories. Acorns becomes a lifeline for local families who would face a much tougher challenge coping alone.

forum

All of Acorns vital services are completely free of charge to the children and families who need them. Acorns relies on voluntary donations for the majority of its income. To support Acorns and help make a difference to life of a local child visit www.acorns.org.uk or call 0845 120 6892.

(Donating through JUST GIVING (CLICK HERE) is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they`ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they`ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it`s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.)
