Youngsters Narrowly Defeated

Youngsters Narrowly Defeated

Our second string were narrowly defeated in last night's visit to St George's Lane, the home of Worcester Sauce, sorry City.

The short and curlies of the game, Worcester won 3-2 as they bagged an 88 minute winner, after coming from behind twice.

Gordon Cowans was again in charge, so it appears he may be doing a split role between first team duties normally and then will be the reserve team coach as he continues to learn the ropes on what should be as successful a coaching career as his playing days were.

The only real change in the team was the departure of Daniel Johnson who joined the first team in the US following the Boldmere match.

Worcester were also captained by former Villa FA Cup Youth Finalist Ellis Deeney.

Worcester (subs to be updated if info is available):

Thompson, Weir, Deeney, Thorley, Elvins, Khan, Reece, Denny, Symons, Glover, Birley.

Subs:

Mills, Whitehead, Ayres, Breeze, Rowe, Haynes, Edwards, Taylor, Sargeant.

Goals:

Glover (24, 88), Symons (52).

Villa:

Barrett (Watkins 82), Barton (Stevenson 45), Cameron (Kinsella 45), Ward, Devine, Donacien (Lewis 56), Melvin, Grealish (Nelson 80), Drennan, Burke (Williams 80), Watkins-Clark (Eminoglu 72).

Goals:
