What The Hell's Going On At Villa? MORE Positivity

I`m sorry but just what the hell is going on at Villa?

We`ve been winning pre-season games, we`ve had happy excited players, the fans aren`t killing each other on the forums and the moaning has gone from 99% to just the odd grumble.

This will never do!

The latest in this scandal is Stephen Ireland who told Paul Brown at www.avfc.co.uk he can`t wait for the new season and he can visibly see the difference in the other players attitudes as well.

Well, he bloody well better be on top form next season, I`ve put him in my Footie Fantasy team...!

Where was I?

Oh yes, Ireland says:

Stephen Ireland Profile.

Stephen Ireland Forum Thread.

'The manager has pretty much been saying 'we have to score, keep the ball and get the ball through good running'.

Bugger, so we are not only going to attack the opposition but also shoot and try to score? We`ve not done that for years, so why the big change all of a sudden?!

'The confidence in all the players is sky high at the moment and it's nice to see because I think the club deserve better and the fans deserve better than what's been happening. "

Adding that he is looking forward to a really positive season and even within the few weeks Paul Lambert has been here, he says you can tell the difference as the players are 'developing and learning`.

'You can see the boys are willing to have the ball under pressure. There is no hiding place anymore really, you can't hide behind certain players or rely on certain players to win the ball anymore, we all have to do it for the team."

Brilliant, because for at least the last three seasons, the players looked petrified on the ball, they just wanted to offload and were encouraged by at least two of the last three mangers to simply hoof it up and then 'leg it` towards the ball, like you used to play on the playground at school...!

He says he is personally excited and "I can't wait for the season to start to be honest.'

Great, the excitement of the team will no doubt be picked up by the fans who are also - it seems - buzzing. The atmosphere at Villa Park could be back to the good times next season, can`t be worse than the last few silent years at least. Hey, maybe even the Holte End will be able to sing something other than Blues songs?

Ok, don`t go too far Fear, one step at a time!

Its because we glow in the dark, honestly this is all down to being able to be seen in the dark !!!! UTV

All the players seem really happy don't they ?

I think we could be the surprise package this season like Swansea and Newcastle were last season. Only hope Ireland can maintain it. Personally i've put the 3 new boys in my first Fantasy Premier league line up, Lowton, Karim and Holman

Positive tivity is the best kind of tivity !

A player like Ireland at the top of his ame will be a delight to behold..... The antisipation is killing me!
Pride of Lions
Looks like a good season to have purchased my first season ticket. Roll on next month!

Not picking any fantasy football team this early, I will wait and see what other signings happen. Fools rush in, FOOLS! MWAHAHAHAHA! Ahem. Excuse me. Anyway, yeah, this positivity is disturbing; with Lambert's 'keep-ball' approach I think Ireland will fit in nicely if all the usual 'ifs' about Ireland are going well.

Maybe Lambert gave them all a copy of Dont Jump! Also there will be a copy on every seat for the 1st game of the season... Its exciting times and I reckon they will keep getting better and better next week when we start signing players again

It is the Mc Leish is no more factor, that on its own is enough to make me invite the Mother in Law back into the house again, Trust me that is saying something, COTVABU

I was personally shocked and stunned to witness, yes i said witness, a certain defender formally known as hoof ball Collins, play the ball out of defence, under pressure no less, on more than one occasion against the MLS Chicago Fire. He also succeeded in passing to one of his team mates! Shocking stuff i know. Roll on 2012-13.
Charizma
Great news. Houllier only wanted to pass and not bother attacking. Eck got such a boner for defending that he made them sit back and give the ball away instantly.
Villan444
Passing the ball? What, to each other? Silly talk, it will never catch on.

How true JF and if we can get Ireland playing like he really can then it would be like a new signing.

I had the chance to see the open training session in Portland last night. Match review to follow... The players looked lively and there was plenty of banter flying around.... Gabby and Bent didn't participate but were still visible and looking involved.... Ireland was one who stood out in the small-sided stuff as did Gardner, NZog and Collins (who scored a nice goal too!!).

Can't wait for the new season to start !!!!! Bring it on :)

It will all end in tears. Mark my words!!!
