'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chicago Fire Team News

Team news, no grand surprises really, but a good selection of rotation again.

KO: 1.30am remember folks. The Official Stream has been up and down, but they may have been running tests ahead of kick off. Check back 5 minutes or so before the match is due to start would be my advice.

Chicago Fire:

Nolly, Gargan, Friedrich, Berry, Jumper, Bone, Paladini, Alex, Robayo, Pappa, Barouch.

Subs: Tornaghi, Anibaba, Segares, Walls, Kinney, Pause, Nyarko, Pardo, Videira, Oduro, Puppo.

Aston Villa:

Given, Herd, Lichaj, Baker, Dunne, Gardner, Delph, Ireland, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Weimann.

Subs: Guzan, Marshall, Lowton, Warnock, El Ahmadi, Collins, Holman, Carruthers, Clark, Delfouneso, Bannan, Johnson.

Fabian Delph takes the armband for tonight.

Match Thread for those still capable as this tender time of night.

Was hoping to see El Ahmadi in action but nevertheless the GG/Delph combo in midfield will be interesting to see from the start!

I've been impressed by Ireland so far, doing well with the pinpoint passes forward at times!

Love this new Lambert era already, pre-season or not, can't remember seeing little one-twos or precision passing like that for many a long year. And still have to see El Ahmadi, Holman and Lowton in the second half! Woo! Yeh, I've had a few, but surely it's ok to be a little over-enthusiastic after the dross of recent years?

Gabby stretchered off. Looked bad in person, but Villa section was far away so I could not see if it was knee, ankle?. Anybody heard an update?

He held his knee but it turned out to be his ankle, but the club have officially confirmed its not that bad and he only faces 2 weeks out.
