Collins & Warnock Sign For O'Neill?

The Current Bun is reporting tonight that James Collins and Stephen Warnock have been 'snapped up' by former manager Martin O'Neill for a combined fee of £4 million.

The report, if you can call it that, is available by Clicking Here.

It's a bold statement to make cause The Sun will look silly (like they care to be honest!) if this doesn't turn out to be true, but as stated by P.Avfc on the forum, apparently Warnock's better half as said it is the first she's heard of a move to Sunderland.

They also both don't start tonight against Chicago, BUT are on the bench and Paul Lambert has been heavily rotating.

Tomorrow morning (tomorrow's normal morning) might be very interesting indeed, especially after all the blather from Feyenoord about Ron Vlaar - were we waiting to shift first so as not to put ourselves in a weaker position by bringing somebody in before we freed a space?

About time we started playing sensible in the transfer window if it comes to pass this is how we played it! According to Feyenoord Vlaar's agent has said something should happen this weekend so who knows?

I would have paid Collins' train fare from Birmingham, but I'm not paying his flights back from Chicago.

Warnock showed a fair bit of fight in the last few games of the season so I wouldn't be gutted to see him still at Villa for next season, but if this deal was true I'd be happy as it'd take a fair bit off our wages! I'd rather just ship Collins out for now though!

4 million doesn't sound like a lot for two regular first-teamers, irrelevant of how opinions about them aren't high. That said, I guess it's not a bad deal for both clubs, but I'd prefer to see Warnock stay.

i think collins is a good player throws himself in the way of anything very brave defender i like him. warnock cant knock him for his effort but he just isnt technically very good
black_villian
Both pretty good players but it's clear it's time for them to move on and PL to bring in his own younger hungrier players. I think they will do really well at Sunderland, not that I care though. I can't wait to see who our LB will be.

As much as I dont like Warnock I think if he stays he will be very good back to the form he had in his first season that got him on the WC squad...

Rather both just moved on...The Sun seem to have taken down the article, unless im blind.

I also agree get rid, Warnock is 30 now hardly a potential player, his best days are behind im the few he had here just like Bridge at Citeh, Collins don't get me started, he is trouble and will never grow up and be a true model pro like God was so best sell and ge something for them even though MoN the crafty little so and so has now got Cueller Collins and Warnock potentially for a combined fee of £4million whilst spending £18million approx of our transfer kitty to buy themwhilst manager here? :0

I agree its time they move on, it just really annoys me! Under MON they were solid and I fear if they go to Sunderland they'll be solid again. Whats worse is how much they cost and how little we'll get back. Particularly miffed (yes miffed!) with losing Carlos. I did like him and after spending his whole time out of position under MON I didnt expect him to go there. I miss his beard though mostly.

Clive, seriously mate!!!! What trouble did Colins cause under MON??? Your views on most things seem to be non worked out and just following the crowd. How could Collins have pride in his job after working for the previous 2 managers. I know, " they should've had pride in wearing the shirt etc. blah blah. People who think like that have clearly never played the game. It doesn't work like that.
