No Offers For Villa Players As Yet!

Nothing on the transfer front today really, just a few snippets in reference to potential exits.

On twitter, James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey

Said with reference to the James Collins to Sunderland rumours: "O'Neill likes Collins a lot but #AVFC won't give him a bargain & Collins prefers London so a capital club more likely"

He also tweeted something that I`ve also said a few times recently when asked:

#AVFC do not have to sell to buy but are trading carefully & already have a lot of defenders so wise for exits before arrivals

Meanwhile, Paul Lambert has told Mat Kendrick at The Birmingham Mail that he has had no offers for any of the Villa players as yet.

This is the thing isn`t it? We might say 'get rid of him, him and him` but it is easier said than done if other clubs aren`t queuing up to buy them!

I guess that if they don`t get offers for a few defenders, then moves for the likes of Ron Vlaar won`t happen as you can only have so many in your squad?!

When asked if any offers had been made he said: "No, nothing..........Being over here (on tour in USA) makes it a bit more difficult because of the time difference and where you are."

Sad truth is that the way they "performd" last season, a club would have to be daft or desperate to come in for the likes of the back four......
Pride of Lions
Oh I don't know...Sidmouth Donkey sanctuary might be taking a look at Collins and Dunne....
MASON_PARKER
difficult, especially those on big wages.
The Fear
The wages more than anything could be the real stumbling block, thank you MON, at least his madness is coming closer to an end. COTVABU

How many more years have Dunne and Collins got on their contracts? I thought this was their final year.
AVbornandbred
Collins fancies a move to London? I bet that will have delighted Arsene Wenger and Di Matteo!!!
VillaHippo
Collins to London would be a good move - G4S are looking for Olympic security staff I hear?
griffgriff
This was my biggest concern, us being unable to offload the like of Collins Warnock and Dunne due to nobody in there right mind wanting them, lets face it only MoN is mad enough to sign these lot he is ouronly hope unfortunetly and the crafty bugger will pay peanutes as he knows we have a large wae bill thanks to his exploits to consider, he already has had Cueller for nothing after spending £7/8 milion of our money on him to barstool.
ClivetheVillan
Yeah griffgriff good idea! Though if he tried to pass a trouble maker over to a colleague he'd end up hoofing them into the English Channel!
VillaHippo
If any of them ARE off to Sunderland it's not likely to happen until late August anyway is it. Patience folks, MON will get there eventually.
Sheriff Kimbo
as long as Lamberts phone doesnt run out of battery at 11.45pm then we should be okay re:MON signing our defence
zigthevilla
*on the last day of the transfer window haha
zigthevilla
LOL Sherrif&Zig too true that is,
ClivetheVillan
I knew it would all be Martin O'Neill's fault.

Their bloody agents should be hawking them about..... problem is no one fancies the wages even if the selling price is low.....difficult situation....just ask NRC his agent said he was massively in demand from Champions League Clubs.... well Hell Yeah !!!
Fatloser
ChocolateTeapot, the only thing im blaming MoN for is signing them in the 1st plaice whch he did by the way, and putting them on such high wages that other clubs who would normally be interested in these average at best players like Dunne Collins and Warnock will not match the wages MoN signes them on now i was a MoN fan befre he spat his dummy out but you have to admit this is why we are lumbered with these players the silly wages they weresigned on by MoN
ClivetheVillan
To be honest I don't think we'll be able to sell Collins or Dunne this summer because of the silly wages that they'll be on like all you guys have said. I think PL knows this so they'll just be rotated around next to CC who he has big hopes for, until their contracts run out next season.
VillaHippo
I actually think we will get a good season out of players that some want to see the back of. Dunne, Collins and Warnock will do OK I believe. We actually have two players for every position at the moment and I wouldn't be overly concerned if we went into the season with what we have got. However if PL can improve on what we have by replacing one or two then that is a good thing.
voiceoftheholte
had t laugh when i read mys season ticket finance agreement this morning: section 75 rights: you have the right to sue the supplier if you receive unsatisfactory goods or services..... up to £30k!! I must dig out last seasons agreement and get onto the club.
