Ron Vlaar Update... Deal Not Imminent

A few of the press have updated in reference to the Ron Vlaar potential move...

James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey
Told Ron Vlaar to #AVFC not close. Won't be joining tour. Villa hope to shift Hutton, Warnock or Collins to pave way

Tom Ross ‏@thegoalzone
#Villa boss Paul Lambert says he's had talks with Feyenoord defender Ron Vlaar but doesn't know if he'll be joining the club yet

Mat Kendrick ‏@MatKendrick
Ron Vlaar still some way off being a done deal.

It makes sense that the deal isn't imminent in all honesty, the CEO as well as the manager are over in the States and James Nursey did tweet the other day no signings expected until after the USA tour.

Has to be done though surely? Now Vlaar has publicly stated he'd like to join, it would be difficult for him to return to his club wouldn't it?

Ron Vlaar dream move to Villa: Vlaar & Snodgrass In? Makoun Out?

I agree that some players will be shifted, those named are pretty obvious targets for exits, however from the chats I`ve had with the Club before now, it wouldn`t be a sell first, then we`ll do a deal. It would just be clear that some players have to go to make way at some point.

I did think that Vlaar would not be signing until after the US tour at the earliest. Slightly worried about some of the talk that he is not as good as we might be led to believe. He was poor in the game he played at euro 2012, then again so were most of the Irish and indeed English. That does not mean they are all poor players. COTVABU

Don't worry, a well known ITK from villa talk has confirmed he is coming. Check the thread on VT.

irish villa - agreed. One of those games was against Portugal. I'm sure that even Paul 'God' McGrath himself may have struggled against Cristiano Ronaldo!

He'll be a Villa player by the start of next week. I expect Hutton and Collins to be gone by August.

Yeah I heard Villa are waiting for PSG to complete their multi-million move for Hutton to go through first.

My only concern is that while we're in the US, another club may come in for Vlaar. Fingers crossed for when we return to the UK then.
