Thumbs Up To Darren Bent As Captain?

A follow up to our poll on Darren Bent following the articles last week:

Ok, yesterday Mat Kendrick tweeted: ‏@MatKendrick Darren Bent made captain for today's match. Interesting development. I had heard Bent had volunteered for the role in Petrov's absence Today, Darren Bent has tweeted: ‏@DarrenBent Was great to get out there for the claret and blue today after such a long time out. It was an honour to be captain, loved it! That got the tiny cogs in my head turning! See: How About Darren Bent For Team Captain?

Paul Lambert heaped praise on Darren Bent volunteering to be Captain against Burton, but has said Benty will have to continue to justify the honour of wearing the armband. Speaking to the Official Site Lambert described Bent as one of the best finishers in the league, but it's by no means certain that Bent will continue with the armband as Lambert will make a final decision closer to the league start. I would definately make him Captain. He's earned it. We dont have a steady team at the moment, other than Given in goal there's no one else who warrants it. Agbonlahor can forget it.

make him captain, the side should be built around him. Looks like we actually have a manager that will play to his strengths this season
