Stan Sadly Not In Remission

Alistair bloody Campbell has taken to Twitter to apologise for wrongly claiming yesterday that Stan was in remission.

The Birmingham Mail, who received the news as joyously as we did, have just carried his apology.

'Apologies to Sunday Mail Glasgow. Was given wrong info re Stiliyan Petrov. Treatment going well but not yet in remission.'

I'd imagine fans will be gutted by this news, and no doubt the claim will have sadly distressed Stan and his family.

The good news is his recovery is going well and that is what we shouldn't forget, and with the comments from fans that Stan would've probably had brought to his attention on the sites that carried the news, he will again know he is not alone and that the mass of support he has felt is still right behind him, and will now again be waiting for the news to be true next time.

As ever Stan, you are in our thoughts and keep battling on!

Silly thibg to do Alaister, but i do believe it was just a mistake as that is what politicians are good at remember cocking things up and not telling the truth thats why they are there!!! Still good to hear Stan is well thats all that matters really!

He's heavily involved with Leukaemia charities so I do think it was an honest mistake, he's joining the massuers on the bike ride to help, so honest mistake yes, but Stan should be the one making announcements.

No offence to journalists operating on this site but I've said it before - they do not report facts they sensationalise rumour and present as truth.....gutter dwellers. Alistair should have apologsied straight out, not an underhand, dismissive one liner on twitter...Stan should do the announcements as Mike said.
