Stan's In Remission!

According to the Sunday Mail, Stiliyan Petrov has entered remission in his battle against Leukaemia.

The news has broke from the most unlikely of sources, former Dossier Sexing Spin Doctor Alistair Campbell, revealed the news whilst talking about fundraising for the Leukaemia charity he is chairman of, as Campbell is apparently also going to take part and join our Masseurs Andrew Smith and Alex Butler as they cycle from Celtic Park To Villa Park.

Campbell said:

'Stan is an amazing guy. He is in remission now. People who go through this want to help others, and he is absolutely that type of character.'

Professor Chris Bunce, research director at Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research added:

'His remissions is a fantastic first step towards what we all hope will be a full recovery. He is clearly aware that this is a necessary step along the road, but that there is still danger the disease has not fully gone away. Most patients achieve a remission, some regrettably go on to relapse. Stiliyan is aware of this in the way he speaks about where he is now. He will be monitored very closely and should it come back there will most likely be further treatment options available.'

Great news and news that I'm sure will be welcomed by everyone.

Good news, but he's probably still got a long way to go. Even if we never see Petrov in villa colours again he'll always be one of the best players the club has had in the EPL era.
