'If It's Football, It's Vital'

AVFC Sunday Press Transfer Talk

I thought the only transfer gossip today was Lambert Admits He'd Like England Striker

However, a couple of snippets have popped up since. Both look to have little substance to me, but hey ho, I like to be thorough with the list of all the links!!!

L`Equipe apparently say that Villa (and Sunderland) are still interested in Mali Midfielder Tongo Hamed Doumbia. Really? It would surely require an exit before we took another midfielder? The Rennes player has been linked before but was meant to be going to WBA, but apparently he has failed to agree terms with the Baggies.

And then Footie 365 say that Ajax and Holland international Vurnon Anita is interesting Newcastle, Villa and Sunderland.

Apparently the 23-year-old, who plays at left-back and defensive mid, is set to have talks with Ajax. The report claims Newcastle have had a 5m bid rejected with 8m being a more realistic price.

He told the Sunday Mirror: 'I've two years left on my contract. But I want some clarity from Ajax about my future."

His agent says he could be tempted to the Premier League.

Sorry they are only snippets, but I guess it isn`t my fault, I could make a few links up for you if you wished, although I don`t think I`ll ever do a better spoof than when van Nistelrooy was 'moving` to Villa... I should try to find that article one day!

I would imagine that Anita deal to be fairly true PL supposedly wanted to sign him for Norwich... Any player coming from Ajax is also someone Id be interested in because he can definitely play good football if he plays for them...

I'd go along with your reasoning CDX.
