Holman Delighted By Friendly Welcome

Brett Holman has said that he couldn't have wished for a better start at Villa with all the players being friendly and welcoming in training.

Speaking to the Official Site as the team gear up for our pre season opener against Burton, Holman said the camp was happy, had been working hard, and he was loving the start of his Villa life:

'It's been interesting obviously. You're a new player and you have to meet the guys and see how the dressing room is, then there's obviously meeting the new coach but it's all been good. All the guys are great and it's a fantastic and friendly group. It's not as bad as going to school for the first time!'

Some of us are that old now that I can't remember the first day of school!

Holman said it was a strange summer for him, especially with the managerial change, but he's just glad he's in now and can get going with football again:

'I'm happy, there's been a couple of months of waiting which was a little strange, but it's good to be here and start training and get cracking on a new season. It's been tough as a pre season should be! It's been exciting.'

Isn't it nice to still have happy stories coming out about the club now. At least on the face of things from what we have heard from the players training has been going well and Lambert is definitely putting them through their paces. Be interesting to see what sort of state the team appear to be in when we face Burton, especially how we play compared to last term.

He'll be well liked. He has a very strong work ethic and is a decent all-round player.

Yes, it won't be long now. I'm sure Brett will be a most welcome addition from the clips I've seen of him in action.

No comments or news from any of the 'under threat' crew about how happy they are working under PL. That makes me happy for one.
