Lambert Frustrated By Greedy Player Demands
The Daily Star have a strange article today!
They say that Villa boss Paul Lambert has told some potential targets to stop being greedy if they want to come to Villa?
Lambert said: "The phone`s been going mad, all the time. It`s a bit of a pain but I just don`t answer it sometimes! You get people on to you all the time and then you find out they want ridiculous money before they will even talk to you. You think something`s going to get done and then it doesn`t and then it`s back on again and then it isn`t. It can go like that when people are being greedy."
The way the Star have the article it looks like he is talking about Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand and Swansea striker Scott Sinclair though.
I am 100% sure he wouldn`t be because that would NOT be the way to attract a player to the club! Naughty headline that!
He certainly hasn`t stopped his squad re-building though, see: More Signings Will Be Made.

I think that headline is a disgrace! pure muck-raking of the lowest order. Neither of the names mentioned in the headline are mentioned in the article itself but, as you suggest, this does not paint us in a good light whilst we may be trying to attract those players to the club.

It's another way of saying, "we're skint and Randy won't sanction any decent wages after getting his fingers burnt." Money talks and with the new sky money, there's **** loads going round so you've got to pay it. People will go where the money is and paying peanuts will only get you monkeys...

Tis true, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Thats why we paid 20 odd million for our prolific frontman Mr Bent. Now theres a player who knows how to score goals and worth every penny ;)
