Spanish Centre-Back Linked To Villa

Spanish Centre-Back Linked To Villa

The Sun say that Villa and Sunderland will battle it out for Real Mallorca centre-back Ivan Ramis.

Certainly a position that needs strengthening after the awful displays of the last two seasons... hiccup.

The 27-year-old is apparently looking for a move to the Premiership saying, "This could be the ideal moment to make a change, and the Premier League appeals. I want more challenges, more dreams."

And Real Mallorca`s vice-president has confirmed they have received an offer.

The Independent also carry some quotes from the vice saying:

'We're happy that Ramis has the idea and dream of progressing in his career. We've invested a lot in him and we know that he's a local lad, who developed here and who is very important.

'We're not thinking that Ivan has to go. The truth is that we wouldn't like him to go.'

No point linking to his wiki page, it isn`t up to date enough. However, if this video is correct (!) it looks like he can find the back of the net as well!

So, a replacement for Dunne or Collins? Or do you expect both to go?

Get rid of Dunne and Collins, play Clark and a.n.other and have a back up. There, job done!

Look at clip he seem can play anywhere and great header accuracy and nice free kick, seem prefect player partner Clark and baker as 3 or 4th choice with one more very talent young centre half that we sort! In centre half department. If we sign ramp mean one of Collins or dunne has to go... (prefer rid both) left back for replace warnock (I like him but too much rash under for two seasons) Excite era under Lambert definitely! Hope we sign ramp he is 27 yrs old mean 5 years in him left...

MON rarely signs players from abroad, so maybe we have made a bid?...Would still like Hangaaland for 2 season, think he'd organise the back 4 and help Clark progress. Hutton, Dunne, Collins and Warnock out. Rebuild.

I agree with you, Fear, they are overall disruptive and both past their sell-by date. That statement actually applies to all of last years back four.

Ramis is defintely worth a punt. I would rather see Dunne go because I think he's a bad influence when he gets his negative head on. I would give Collins another chance in the knowledge we also have Clark and Baker.

Wow! Like the look of him. His attacking contribution is good..... terrific free kick, but it doesn't show anything of his defensive qualities. Definately worth a go.

By the looks of that video he likes the ball at his foot and is good at it, wouldn't it be lovely to see us play it out from the back for once!!
