Lamberts First Signing - An El Of A Bargain!

AVFC have now confirmed the signing of Karim El Ahmadi .

The 27-year-old Moroccan international has penned a three year deal.

El of a bargain this!

'I'm very excited about coming here to a massive club and I'm looking forward to playing here. I'm very happy that the manager wants me and that the club wants me and I'm looking forward to starting training again. It's nice that I am the manager's first transfer and I am looking forward to doing good things with the team and with the club this year."

He also says he wants to help Villa compete in the right end of the table and that he has always dreamt of playing in the Premier League.

Paul Lambert is also quoted: 'Karim will help the team, I have no doubt about that. He's a really good footballer and he's played well in a good team, a big team, and I'm looking forward to working with him."

He also confirms the players are back on Thursday for pre-season training.

Feeling great about the Villa, so different to this time last year. This sining seems to be a very astute bit of business along with Bret Homan. COTVABU

We are desperate for a decent right back though. Hutton showed spells of quality last season but his consistency is poor and he's a liability. He gets taken apart by most wingers. Top priority is a right back and hopefully a striker to play up front with Bent... unless Gabi gets his A-Game back.

I think Herd may be the answer at RB, was amazing there vs Wolves on debut I think it was? If this guy is holding then Herd or Lichaj should be able to hold the RB position. Sell Hutton and bring in a LB IMO

Surely only the 'start of business', would imagine PL would want players in by the time they go on tour, also the 'assistant manager' position filled... hopefully a busy few weeks for Villa. Welcome El Ahmadi
