El Ahmadi To Sign Early Next Week?

It's being reported that Villa will wrap up the signing of Karim El Ahmadi early into next week.

The E&S state that the two clubs have yet to reach a formal agreement over the reported £2.8/3m deal but it's only a matter of time and tiny details now.

Karim missed training at Feyenoord yesterday with reports suggesting he was being given a tour of Bodymoor Heath, but coach Ronald Koeman is quoted as telling press that Karim departure is a 'sporting loss' but that it was a financially sensible option for the club to take.

El Ahmadi himself has said:

'Villa is a top club. I will miss Feyenoord, but nobody will blame me, I want to take this step. I am looking forward to playing against clubs like Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Arsenal.'

Sounds like a done deal to me in all reality now. Bound to be finalised by the time the players report for pre season training. Press Conference for the day before maybe?

Sign of the times. Joining Villa because of the opposition :-/ Looking forward to seeing him in action though. It seems we're buying Feyenoord's engine room. I'm liking everything Lambert has done to date. Can't wait for the season to kick off.

Could be a very good move by Paul, certainly an area we needed to improve, seems good value. COTVABU

Yep, seems an excellent bargain. Can we have more please Mr Lambert...Lol

£3m is nothing nowadays and is undeniable better value for money than Sidwell's/Reo coker's of this world etc. Lets hope he can help fill the gap in the centre of midfield.

If he can pass and move, the idea of him linking up with Ireland in the middle is quite exciting especially if Holman can provide some additional box to box legs

I'll be on holiday :) Looking forward to picking up the paper over there (Hopefully have The Sun, everywhere else does).

Touche, BOF! Why did he have to mention the scum ;)!!!??? Nonetheless, a player willing to leave a huge club like Feyernoord to come to Villa is a good sign. Are you reading Bas Dost?
