Will Barry Bannan Make It? Poll Results

Following the article: Barry Bannan Says Make Or Break Season For Him Vital Villa asked:

Barry Bannan?
Poll Date: 25 Jun 2012
Suggested By: JP Fear

I might need to re-think this sort of poll to be honest, maybe it is a bit negative? Very difficult to judge any youth player on last years showing as none of the seniors did much good either.

Anyway, Bannan could take this as a 'I`ll show you` type of positive. I`m sure all doubters would love to be proved wrong.

Results:

He'll not make it, not good enough 47%

He'll be a squad player 28%

He'll make it, he's a great player 21%

Unsure 4%

He wont make it. More down to his boozing and attitude than his ability
craigy1874
I don't think it's his boozing TBH craigy1874, I think it's his physical strength and stature. Too lightweight, he gets knocked off the ball too easily.
Pride of Lions
If he just tried to play a simpler game instead of trying to hit a hollywood pass every time he got the ball, or shooting from 30 yards then he'd go up in my opinion.

To be a good Premier League midfielder, you need to be able to retain the ball for most of you possession of it, he can't, he isn't good enough. Silva is only small but can retain a ball and calmly use it..... plus his social life will effect his career, top pro's keep themselves at peak condition.
astonmilan
I think he can be a squad player, he is a decent player, not a great player of course not, but on the low wages he is on and the potential he still holds I think he can get a lot better with Paul Lambert, A manager who likes his players to pass and play simple football. Let's be honest McLeish made Hleb player look league one material.
Villa 4 Ever
Modric and Silva are both tiny, but two of the best "players" in the league. I don't think he'll fail because of his size, but he does need a good kick up the backside. Time for him to realise how lucky he is and for him to start taking note of what it takes to be a great premier league player. He'll be a squad player for a couple seasons and then sold, unless he refocuses and reaches his true potential.

I'd like to see Bannan make it because he definitely has got talent, but I'm not sure. I agree with the David Silva comments above and would like to see more movement from him.
M5villa
Only if we can't afford anything decent. He's just not good enough.
thekentvillan
Every player has a clean slate imho. And we shall see. However I would question Bannans drive and ability to hit the heights. This is because he can't drive and he struggles with heights :o)
voiceoftheholte
Spot on "voiceoftheholte" the slat must be clean at the start of pre season and at least till the mid-season window opens. I hope he and a number of thr younger players make it. I dont think we can judge them by the past couple of years performance. So Come on Bazza show us what you can do and if you cant.....
villa@herts
He won't fail because of his size, he will fail because of his attitude , it's as simple as that
