AVFC Transfer Talk - Dutch Defending Incoming?

According to www.talksport.co.uk both Aston Villa, Bayern Munich and Liverpool will miss out on signing Fiorentina`s Peru international Juan Manuel Vargas because they won`t pay the £12m asking price.

The 28-year-old can apparently play as left-back and left midfield.

The Birmingham Mail say Villa are interested in £2million rated Dutch defensive midfielder Karim El Ahmadi Arrousi and that he could well be Paul Lamberts first signing.

He is currently with Feyenoord although the 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Al-Ahli in Dubai.

Hmmm.

I`d not like to get his name printed on the back of a shirt I must admit!

Oh and John Ruddy has signed a new deal with Norwich according to Sky Sports so the link to him is a dead one it seems!

Hard to get excited about this. Is that the same Al-Ahli formerly managed by the now unemployed football manager David O'Leary? If Arousi is not good enough for Feyenoord,, he's hardly good enough for Villa.

I got the impression he was good enough for Feyenoord but with only a year left and a bigger club sniffing all you can do is sell - as per Ashley Young etc. Not exciting I agree, but necessary. Norwich weren't bursting with household names but they performed and achieved so I'm putting my faith in whoever Lambert wants.

At least we are actually looking abroad for once though.
Avfc94 we do
and I believe he's under 28 years old...one of my personal stipulations ! Could be good...who know until we see him play...

HARD to get EXCITED about AROUSI. Oh my sense of humour.... anyway, I've done a bit of digging since my earlier post, and it seems this guy did well at Feyenoord after coming back from the UAE, where he felt the level was not high enough for him. As I posted re Whittingham earlier, if PL sees value in a player to fit his system, we shouldn't dismiss it.
