Holman To Join The Herd

Chris Herd has said Brett Holman's versatility on the pitch will be a big plus for Villa next season.

Speaking to the Official Site as the players enjoy the last few days before pre season training begins, Herdy said he was looking forward to seeing Holman on the pitch and working with him, and he thinks his versatility will provide us with some good addition options during games:

'I'm really looking forward to working with Brett, I know he's a great player, he's proven that with AZ Alkmaar and Australia. He will definitely bring good things to the club. He can play anywhere, up front, wide, even in midfield.'

As we head towards the new season, Herd adds that the players will be hungry to impress the new manager and they do want to improve on both the performances, and obviously, the league position from last season:

'We are certainly looking to have a better season as a team and get pushing up that table. I want to help the team, and I want to progress as a player and better my game.'

Soon be time for the fluffy words to end, and on pitch actions to take centre stage. If they do that, we should all be happy.

I know what you mean Steve... I mean Brett can also pass AND kick goals!
Zarch
"Kick goals"? we talking rubgy union here or something?..... Lol
Pride of Lions
Zarch ...depends on how you define pass and kick goals!...he won't score any thats for sure!
Steve64k
Awwww come on now Steve. As an Australian i'm a huge supporter of the Socceroos and Cahill. But the man is a bit of a one trick pony now. His heading is the only strong part of his game. Holman on the other hand has a well rounded game. And yes... He will score goals. You lads wait and see. Mate if Warnock can get one in anyone can! :)
Zarch
well Zarch...I'm Australian too.. and Cahill is a bit past it now but when he was Holman's age...enough said. I agree Holman could be a good squad player off the bench etc but I've seen enough of him to know he isn't going to set the world on fire..
