North Stand Screen Returns - Now What To Moan At?

North Stand Screen Returns - Now What To Moan At?

Ah good, this is great news!

AVFC have announced, having listened to fan feedback, they will return the giant screen to the North Stand corner.

A fair few in the forum on Vital Villa have certainly moaned and lamented it`s loss and the fact depending on where you sit, you can`t always see the screen in the Holte End, so this is a positive step.

Nice to know they can and do listen.

Tom Fantini, head of facilities, said: 'The club didn't take the decision to remove the screen lightly in the first place. It was part of an important program to enhance Villa Park. However, we appreciate that its removal resulted in real concerns for supporters and these were expressed in a series of consultation meetings, which we take very seriously. While we championed the small video wall, we became aware that for some fans this had size limitations in terms of viewing content from a distance. Because of these varying reasons, we have decided to bring back the large video screen at North Stand. It's undoubtedly back by popular demand!'

A bit more bafflingly Villa are bringing a cancer loading section back to Villa Park, with a designated smoking section in the Holte End Upper.

The Club say: While needing to comply with matchday regulations, the club looked at several areas - ultimately trialing the exterior upper deck of the Holte for a few matches last term. The trials were well received and the club will be bringing this in on a permanent basis on matchdays.
About 15 minutes before half-time, the deck will be accessible through Holte Concourse Level 2 and will remain open through half-time. Please note alcohol is not permitted in the designated smoking deck and this facility is only available to the supporters of the Upper Tier of the Holte Stand.
Unfortunately, the configurations of the other areas and stands are such that similar smoking areas are not readily feasible.

Delighted about the screen!

As a smoker, I appreciate the club are trying to make life easier for fans by introducing this where it's possible to do so, but I'm yet to meet a smoker who can't go a couple of hours without one lol

!!!! Smoking area?!?! Not a good idea for those trying to give up or who sit there and don't smoke. Not good for fans who have no access to it either who will no doubt use toilets and moan when/if caught that others can!!! Don't see the benefits atall unless they're low on ticket sales in that area!!! Is it April 1st ??

Now if only they would sack McLeish, get rid of Heskey and bring in a young upcoming manager to galvanise the club then Villa would be the club who listen and care about their fans! Hang on a minute...

Well now that you have asked for a moan. We have the worst speaker system in the Premier League. This was going to be addressed several years ago as promised by the General, but nothing ever happened. A good sound system is vital to helping whip up the atmosphere. As it is, in the top tier of the Holte you can hardly hear a thing. The announcers and the music can not be heard. In comparison to some grounds it is embarrassing.

VOTH, the sound system in The Holte End was upgraded last year. It was WAY too loud for the first couple of games but they seemed to sort that out.
