Stephen Ireland Linked To QPR Now!

Very little in press transfer talk again, only snippet which isn't even worth linking to is saying that Mark Hughes at QPR might come in for Stephen Ireland to replace Joey Barton

Obviously Hughes had the best out of Ireland at Man City

He is potentially a very good player, however if City come in with big money I bet he is in our top 3 or 4 earners and therefore I would consider letting him go. He is one of those players who doesnt seem to have a best position. Under Lambert he may shine but only seeing him in training will allow the boss to make a call on it. QPR do have money to burn it seems

He was getting back to been a better player last season, with Paul behind him he could be very good again. Could we get a better player for the money we would get for him? not too sure. COTVABU

its just an easy link for the press because hughes is buying up some of his former players...
CDX_EIRE
For me, it would take a very decent offer to even consider letting Ireland go. Last season he was our best and most consistent performer with an Idiot as manager. Just think what a GOOD manager could get out of him.....
Pride of Lions
If the right money came in id let him go. He will be on a huge wage, his wages could be used to tempt a more reliable solid midfield general type.
mattyh1986
Ireland is a attacking midfielder and thats where he needs to be played unlike Mcmuppet who asked to play deeper, hopefully Lambert will get the best out of him!!! UTV

He is not a good winger, too light weight for midfield and we will either play only one striker or if two, I'd rather see Gabby and now also Holman to consider. Therefore, I'd not be sad to see him sold. Signed when we didn't have a manager and as a result never really fitted into a plan.
thekentvillan
I didnt see many games last season. but at the sunderland game people raved about him - i just couldnt see it. to me he drifted and gave the occasional short pass with no strength to his play. when he joined he was on +£60k. He does little more than the fast passing Makoun could do.
lartinmaurson
I will personally drive him to Loftus Road. Other than a few good games at Man City he has constantly disapointed . Never put a good shift in for the villa in my opinion. Lets think of a game where he was the difference and we won because of his performance............. none spring to mind. Over rated by many.
HolteEnder43
It depends of what Lambert thinks of him when pre-season kicks off. If he can tell that he'll a moody unpredictable character then he'll be shipped out, but I hope that he'll be able to man-manage Ireland to make sure he fulfills his potential in a claret and blue shirt!
VillaHippo
Have to give him a chance under a good manager. He's only had Houllier and McLeish, two disasters where no one shone. But it's up to Lambert really, if he does fancy him then so be it......and HoleEnder43, do you not remember Chelsea away, 3-1, Ireland man of the match?
Stephen Jay Hawkings
To say he was one of the better players last season isn't saying much. I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over selling him on - based on what I've seen, but PL will know best what to do with him, I'm sure.
Windy Villain
It's nice to be able to trust a manager again isn't it?
VillaHippo
Might be wrong but I don't see Ireland taking too kindly to Paul Lambert's use of squad rotation
Fatloser
just lazy journalism, hopefully.
onlyteaminthemids
I hope none of the players think we will back them against Lambert after some of the dismal stuff they served up last season there is not one player at Villa Park Iwould back against the manager. Those that dont need kicking out need a good kick up the rear and I am hoping PL will be strong enough to give it them.
