Villa Join Police Football Scheme

Aston Villa youth coaches and legend Ian Taylor have signed up to train youngster in Highgate as part of a Police based scheme.

The teenagers will be put through a 'rigorous' training session and will then take part in a 5 a side tournament, after PCSOs in the area applied for money under the Proceeds of Crime Act to fund the scheme.

PCSO Anita Hodson said of the endeavour:

'This sporting initiative has been set up and funded using money seized from criminals. By pumping money back into the local community, we hope to give youngsters a means of coming together in a safe and supervised environment. We are delighted to be working alongside Aston Villa to offer such a positive scheme in Highgate.'

Quotes from the Birmingham Mail.

Good to see our community work continuing apace.
