Villa Linked To France U20 Left Back

Transfer talk is still in short supply, wish the Euro`s would hurry up and end so we can get down to some real business!

The Daily Mail say that Villa are looking to sign AS Nancy left-back Massadio Haidara.

Apparently McLeish had lined this one up and Villa have watched him play 10 times. The report says that McLeish sent CEO over to watch him though. I`m not sure about that, surely you send your scouts over?!?!

The 19-year-old has played for the French U20 team.

Wiki say: Massadio Haïdara (born 2 December 1992 in Trappes) is a French football player of Senegalese descent who plays for French club Nancy in Ligue 1. He plays as a left back and made his professional debut on 11 December 2010 in a league match against Sochaux.[1] On 10 January 2011, he signed his first professional contract after agreeing to a three-year deal with Nancy.[2]

See the wiki page: en.wikipedia.org

The report also repeats the link to Spurs Kyle Naughton at the expense of Alan Hutton.

They also mention Denmark`s international left-back Simon Poulsen as a potential Stephen Warnock replacement if they don`t do the business bringing in Haidara. We`ve been linked to Poulsen before: AZ Alkmaar`s Denmark defender Simon Poulsen: Danish Defender To Save Our Bacon?

Fear: I saw the original article and the comment that PaulFaulkner had been to see him several times made me wonder how true this is. With respect what does PF know about left backs? Knowledge and postage stamps came to mind.

We're probably going to be linked to every left-back and right-back on the planet.

Bring back Habib! Villa legend, always gave 100%. When it came to pulling splinters out of his bum and collecting his massive paychecks that is.

I wouldn't think a LB with little experience would walk into our first team. Besides, we have Enda Stevens, he's got more experience than Haidara....
Pride of Lions
Ends Stevens,no thanks, absolutely not good enough!
Shamrockvilla
Coming from someone named 'Shamrockvilla' I definitely respect your opinion on a former Irish League player! It's a shame though cos I'd hope he could replace Warnock.
