Villa Lining Up Forest Full Back?

The Daily Star say we are looking at bidding 2.5million for Nottingham Forest full back Chris Gunter.

Swansea and Reading have both also been linked in recent months. Oh and according to Vital Forest Fulham have also shown an interest: Forest Face Mounting Pressure To Keep Gunter

The Wales international is 22 years old, is described as an attacking full back who can play on both sides but prefers the right.

Never heard of him but don't let that worry you!?
Thomas Holte
Nah, I'm the same Thomas! lol. But Lambo might have..! Reading about him, he sounds ideal, young but also experienced.
The Fear
He's always been good on fifa and football manager :)

And prefers the right ... does that mean the current right back might be leaving ... I for one hope so.

spuds signed him, he played a few games and then they let him go to forest. didnt quite cut it in the prem. Naughton is a much better option as he was the one who was rated better than Kyle Walker when spuds snatched both of them.

I'd have the right and left back out to be fair... and the two in the middle!
The Fear
Yeh, used to play for Cardiff City (without using Wikipedia) Lol. Started playing for Wales quite young. Obviously another option if Kyle Walker doesn't work out. Either way, Mutton's days could be numbered......

Gunter was at Spurs prior to joining Forest and I believe he has the potential to become a very decent Prem full back. when he was with us, he was very young and lacking game time experience, but I think he has matured into a realiable defender, though perhaps not yet one that is expectional, but who has the potential to develop very well under Lambert and at that price I believe it would be an absolute snip. Lambert was supposedly very interested in taking him to Norwich in Jan, so you know he has done plenty of homework on the boy, so he isnt looking at a kneejerk purchase, but one he has looked into thouroughly

Oxfordspur - did you not recommend Alan hutton to us as well?? just checking
Pablo1978
probably, but that was because I wanted rid of him :-) obviously in the case of Gunter, apart from the 25% sell on clause that Spurs will get (Joking, I think...) I have no reason to big this boy up..

I take it then the rumours of Kyle Naughton and todays linking us to Gunter willmean its one or the other as they both are right sided full backs, i have to say Gunter is a player i rate and still is young and for the money its a bargain and half alright, i like Lamberts transfer links already very clever and astute! UTV!

I think the full backs are going to be key purchases in the summer and I'm really pleased with these links. I'd still like to see Lihaj played at RB a bit more often and see what he can really do. Still competition for places is good and he can still get that spot if he's prepared to put the work in and raise his game.
