Kyle Naughton Linked To Villa

Good heavens we really are struggling today for transfer links!

I thought they`d have really heated up by now, I guess the Euro`s have taken most of the attention!

The only snippet at the moment has the Daily Mail linking us to 23-year-old Spurs right-back Kyle Naughton.

Naughton spent last season with Lambert on loan at Norwich.

Apparently Norwich have already contacted Spurs with a 4million offer but Villa are expected to come in for him.

Naughton was a product of Sheffield United's centre of excellence and academy.

The Norwich official site page says:

The highly rated attacking full-back shone for Sven Goran Eriksson's Leicester City during a loan spell in the 2010-11 Championship season, and earned a place in the PFA's Championship Team of the Season, alongside City's Wes Hoolahan and Grant Holt.

An England Under-21 international, Naughton adds some important defensive depth to the Norwich City squad. He also carries a goal threat, having notched an impressive five goals for Leicester last season, including screamers against Barnsley and Coventry City.

This fella and Kyle Walker are clones, in ability as well as appearance. Is he a better defender than Lichaj??
He'll do nicely for me thank you. Get him in Paul.
Thomas Holte
Yes please and Poulsen left back! Warnock and Hutton out...
We need to get some England Internationals back, So if he might turn into one of them i'm very hapy.
villa 4 ever
As we have Lichaj and little cash, is this the best investment if we are going to buy a left back too?
In Lambert we trust!
Naughton and Poulsen would be good signings. We need strength in depth and competition for places. Lichaj can play in both full back positions.
That's 3 RBs off Spuz in 3 years FFS!!!!
4mill offer? that means we would prob have to bid higher... sounds like another massive expense for not even a first team player... not impressed
btw - no more fcking irish players in villa.. only given is prob worth his salt and keane who tbh is too old and i don't want villa to be spending money just to fund his retirement plans... all the rest are absolute garbage. oh yea i will add scottish to that too... oh and wales.. unless we are going for bale i don't want to hear any bloody welsh players. overpaid englsh tripe could be or maybe greats who we are spending 6-10mill on is a disaster also... ramble over
I'd like Michael Owen, Craig Bellamy and Aiden McGeady then! ;-) Seriously though, Olsson from West Brom, Green for a free, Victor Moses from Wigan, and Holt from Norwich. Getting rid of Delph, Delfo, Dunne, Warnock and possibly Gabby should easily help us recoup loads of cash and wages expenditure.
4 mill is hardly massive money for a 23 year old who would definitely be a first team player, improve our defence, can go forward and is only going to improve - get him in.
Yeah 4 mill isn't much, we paid a similar fee for Hutton didn't we. Plus his age would mean that he'd be worth more than that in the future. Decent investment I'd say if PL went for him. He knows how much he's worth from their time together at Norwich, and I'm sure he wouldn't pay over the odds for him.
Would think Delph, Agbonlahor, Dunne & Collins wages will be a major stumbling block to levering them out of VP. All are probably on top 6 club wages with none of the top 6 remotely interested in any of them. Delfonouso is championship at best so not too hard to move on. Just hope we avoid loaning in players.
Looks like a good signing if happens to me, I can see him also playing as a right winger if needed so could be a great player to have a VP.
Tallaght Villan
we would probably have to pay more than 4mill.. especially if another clubs has offered that... potentially looking like 5-6m... sounds ok at first thought.. then when i think ferguson paid 6mill to get hernandez in.. makes it again.. another expensive british signing. 4mill for hutton.. LOL spurs must been laughing their bollox off at that deal - so much money villa have wasted...
4 million you must be having a laugh double that offer and you may be getting close. Spurs won't sell anyway sorry to rain on your parade!! You may get him on loan thou!!Keep Dreaming
I am also interested in seeing how Enda Stevens does this season. I have a few mates that all love league of ireland. They kept going on and on about Doyle, Hunt and McClean before they went over. They all said before we tryed to sign him that Stevens was the best player in the league.

Naughton linked to Villa! No thanks he should stay at Spurs as he will get games along with Caulker next season.
Wilts Spurs
You spurs fans need to remember that although you finished 4th, you didn't make it into the Champions League ( and therefore will still not be able to equal Villa's European conquering exploits for at least another year,) so you don't need 2 RBs FFS. You can have Hutton back as a backup to broken toe....
Kyle Naughton and Simon Poulsen both players i would want us to sign yes for me please!! UTV!
4m sounds a good deal because he had a good season, good reputation, no longer going to get a start at Spurs, and considering we paid 3m for Hutton, then and 25% for someone who isn't completely sh%%e is a great deal. We just need to ship out to a championship side. Lihaj would do well at left back based on what he did last year. Try and ship out Warnock for a massive loss too.
More than happy to leave it to Lambert, Naughton perfect example good quality full back which shows even more by the fact Spurs fans want to keep him.
Does it matter Villan444?!?!?
redhotspur, sorry mate forgot you were mates with Levy and had close connections with your board! Next...
Just saying that we're taking their leftovers P. avfc or train up their players to go back to them for a season!!!
'Their' haha...'Our'!!
With Kyle Walker that was the case Villan444, we had their 'leftovers' with Mutton but if we buy Naughton then he is our player, a good player and will improve their squad.
Villa4life87, you sound like a bad 1960's landlord, no Irish allowed. Like the club never wastes money on foreign players. Balaban, anyone? Why don't we let PL decide who he wants based on ability not nationality.
Redhotspur what on earth are you waffling on about? He won't get games at Spurs in the EPL only in boring cups games like your classic Stevanage away last season. He'd come to Villa to further his career. Worked for Walker why not him........only this one we get to keep. Pfah!
Would love this signing, dont care if he is from spurs, his club has no baring on anything, sure Hutton was a failure but we propelled Walker to stardom. Naughton would be a good signing in my opinion.
