'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Taylor Delighted With Lambert Capture

Club legend and Ambassador Ian Taylor has hailed the decision to bring Paul Lambert to the club and he's backed him to bring back the good times.

Speaking to the E&S who speculate that Lambert will be given 20m to spend this summer, Tayls said that the appointment had brought a buzz back into the fanbase:

'I think all the fans are excited about the arrival of Paul Lambert. It's a new beginning for a lot of supporters after the cloud which hung over the place during Alex McLeish's tenure. All of a sudden there's a buzz again, I think everyone will get behind him.'

It's nice to have pretty much everyone singing from the same hymn sheet again - it wasn't quite the same where everybody was ultimately united over McLeish - but the stage is set for Lambert to really make his name now and get the club back where it belongs. Everyone agrees it won't happen overnight, but we now have to learn from the mistakes of the past and really look and build our scouting network, utilise the youngsters properly, be more than a one trick pony on the pitch and spend the money wisely on key targets as opposed to journeymen and squad players.

It won't be an easy ride next season, but hopefully it'll be a journey that keeps us on the edge of our seats and allows us to feel some pride in the players, their efforts and performances again.

Yes the Paul Lambert Forum Thread is still going strong...will it ever end?

So long as we give the guy a chance and the football direction is exciting then everything is sweet.

Pretty much everyone WAS singing from the same song sheet Tayls..... we wanted that Idiot out. But that is well and truly consigned to the rubbish bin now. We have a MANAGER to back and a team to support once again.
