Norwich Club Statement On Paul Lambert

Norwich City Football Club statement:

Following today's announcement by Aston Villa that they have appointed Paul Lambert as their new manager, we would once again like to place on record our sincere gratitude to Paul for everything he has done for the Club - everybody at Carrow Road wishes him all the best for the future.

Some media reports are suggesting we have agreed compensation for Paul's services with Aston Villa, however this is not the case. We will continue to discuss this matter privately with Aston Villa.

*****************

The rest goes on to talk about their search for a new manager beginning.

Good luck to the Norwich fans, they deserve a great season next season and a manager befitting a great bunch !

I find it strange that it has been announced with no agreement in place. Is PL bringing any of his backroom staff?

Steve Bruce is available for Norwich. Ex player blah blah.

Nooooo Telford... please dont inflict Bruce on them.

Big Eck is available if Delia is interested.

Sky sports say he is coming with his assistant, Ian Culverhouse

Will be good if Culverhouse comes too, they seem to work well together. Hope Norwich set someone suitable, they deserve it.

News of assistants probably delayed if they have not yet resigned as well. PL had a reason to resign, maybe they didn't? Norwich fans were good on the last day, applauding the 19th minute. Good atmosphere too. Alsi the Norwich players were a credit before the game, many talking to the fans and signing autographs. Hope the obvious squad discipline is transferred to VP.

I wish Norwich all the best, im sure they can find another manager to carry on Lambert's legacy and build on it, if Wigan can stay in the Prem League im sure Norwich can as i think Norwich have a right to be in the top flight as i grew up with them at the top end of with us man utd etc

They won't get much for Lambert in terms of compo because of his rolling contract, the money will come depending on if he wants his two backroom boys to join him.
